ROM Hack [WIP] EX-Troopers English Translation

No one wants to do it so I'm gonna try to do it. The font seems to be standard MT Framework .tex files. I also see a bunch of gmd files that I could open with Kuriimu.
Anyone knows where to go from here? I'll do it if it's tedious but I'm not very skilled.
Status:
Menus: 5% (estimate)
Dialogue: 0.07% (estimate)
Cutscenes 0%: (maybe I can extract the moflex, add subtitles and reencode it?)

EDIT: So editing the menus are easy enough. I also have an idea on how to edit the story text.

Yeah.. Might take a while though. This game has a very large amount of text and I'm kind of using google translate and intuition to translate it.. Soo it may be rough at first. I have no idea why no one bothered to translate this game yet....

The main reason are the "Manga" style images they use as dialogue boxes. Those are images, not text. The 3ds and the PS3 version are ULTRA picky when you mess with those images. Lots of people have attempted to translate this, it's just too much work for a small team.

You mean the cutscenes or normal dialogue.. Cause normal dialogues are editable and the cutscenes can be subbed using the new moflex tools.

I was of course super skeptical until you posted those screens. Those new tools are a godsend. Might also work on the PS3 version. I'll dig my copy out and rip it and find out. Thanks for letting me know! I'll see if I can find an old translated scrip[t for the game.

Umm this game has craploads of text. As you can see from the screenshots of that software I posted. Expect like a year. I still need to not fail school XD.

Are you still the only one working on this? There is a guy on Youtube who is trying to translate this on PS3 and he said he knew about your project. He also told me he doesn't really want to collaborate but that's probably because I'm the middle man. Maybe you could hit him up and see what he has to say. You've most likely seen this already but here's the Youtube link to the patch demo.

Is there anything we can do to help make it go faster?
I mean, something that doesn't involve translation because I don't speak japanese. Maybe organizing something or editing some weird file.

I'd recommend using Google Translate only for Menus. A lot of context is lost when you try to machine translate it, you'll need someone who knows Japanese to help translate it.

Best of luck! I beat this game without knowing Japanese or using translate, the multiplayer in it is incredible, and the visuals are stunning. Truly tragic that Capcom couldn't be bothered to bring us this game to North America.

The gameplay does look excellent. Anybody willing to organise a crowd source for google translating the menus (+ maybe tutorials)? If there was an explained process and a place to collate input, I'm sure some contributors would come out of the woodwork.
