V1 costs more, has a serial that you can use to get a free NFC Reader/Writer or Amiiqo, and comes with the 10 Amiibo. V2 costs less, no gift, and comes empty.

Someone on another site said that "it didnt even support WiiU or N3DS yet", is that true or has the hardware been updated? Can you flash the hardware? I want it for WiiU exclusively. I own every amiibo to date, and dont want to open them

I am THIS close to buying a V1 with code for USB reader as I dont have an NFC equipped device

There's been an update fixing that within the first week of its release. I've used it on my N3ds in sm4sh, Fire Emblem Fates and Wii U just fine. That is some outdated info, lol. Plus anyone that bought my Amiiqo had it personally updated and tested by me so they never had that problem.

Sadly I was very busy and had no time to reply.
Thank you for the nice and fast support and delivery time updates.
The amiiqo arrived perfectly on time in the US. Sadly, my luggage is still missing from my flight back :.(
I'm so glad that the amiiqo was in my handluggage ^^

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I get "Failed to unlock tag!" 9 times out of 10 when I attempt to unlock my Amiiqo. Not sure if I'm understanding the instructions correctly, but this is what I've been doing with extremely low success rates.

1) Scan Amiiqo in app
2) Press unlock button
3) Press Amiiqo against the back of my phone and wait for a sound
4) Press and hold the Amiiqo button

Does anyone have any tips?

Edit: Managed to unlock it after many tries and am not going to bother locking it again. Just for clarity's sake, what exactly is the point of locking the Amiiqo?

So if you're using the amiibo in games like Smash Bros you want to lock the amiiqo so that you can save the amiibo to its new updated state.Otherwise whenever you switch amiibo on the amiiqo it willhave whatever saved on it when you first saved the amiibo from the. real figure or the bin file you downloaded.

You'd need someone with a phone that has NFC to scan it for you. You have to use the amiiqo app and use the show serial option and scan.

I plan on getting 2.0 Amiiqo but what are the chances that Nintendo blocks this from being usable?

Should be really slim due to how it works. It functions as a complete 1:1 copy, the amiiqo doesn't unlock any of the data or such, just a direct clone/copy. Somehow failing that, the Amii team would be updating should they have to in their case. Also, there's NO physical difference between the 1st and 2nd editions, same exact hardware, just different things on them/dealt about with them.

well fuck me then. I don't know any friend with NFC on their phone. and it would be just outright weird to ask to acquaintances. not to mention that most people don't know what NFC is nor wether their phone has it

anyone got a list of cheap NFC phones that are amiiqo compatible

The Splatoon Boy and Girl challenges suck really badly but the Squid ones are pretty fun to play. All three unlock gear, weapons and mini-games but IMO, the best one is Squid's. Squid's gear is all robot-y.

You could get the usb reader for the PC they're releasing

You aren't holding it there long enough, I made the same mistake.

Apparently amiiqo.net is selling it as well, and they claim that they have an SG warehouse.

I'm thinking about ordering from them and seeing how long they take to mail it to someone in SG...huehuehue
