hmm, I will still wait, this could be bate into a trap to allow them to ban more, I don't trust this
I doubt that. I may be able to decompile the .cia files, and .app files. I might try that and inspect the code (If I can get that far.)

Nintendo is known for a lot things, but they've never been known to bait the user.
The lack of a NATIVE_FIRM update seems to really only show that this wasn't much of a serious update.

A reminder you can still do everything on 11.4 that you can on 11.5. There's supposed to be a homebrew launcher app that allows you to bypass the block that Nintendo pushes on you so you will normally have no choice but to update.

And IIRC, there's supposed to be a way to bypass the banwave... but I don't think I'm allowed to say how here, so you're pretty much gonna have to look for it yourself...

what does boot11 have to do with it? even if you meant boot9 it is still worth updating the system on their part...
There was some speculation that it was still possible for nintendo to block arm9 through an update somehow, which is why we have sighax/b9s to completely override the system at the deepest part they can't touch.

I am going to level with everyone in this thread, it's pretty much always going to be safe to update at this point. There is nothing software wise that Nintendo can do anymore. They can update the NATIVE_FIRM, but now we have methods around it. Even if we were to find a software based kernel exploit and Nintendo removes it, we can still get around it.
Now that we have B9S, there's literally nothing the Big N can do to stop us. They had their chance with the 2DS XL and they still shipped with the old bootrom!
Once NTRBootHAX gets released, then it's all over for Nintendo. Trust me, flashcart retailers are going to start selling kits pre-flashed for NTRBootHAX because it would stupid of them not to do so.
Y'all so used to the old A9LH/Menuhax days. We're in the B9S era now, babies! Nothing's stopping us from having a good time!
Edit: Even if they cause some damages to the CFW, it's never enough to really worry about.

b9s needs arm9 access to install. currently those options are A9LH, Safehax, and ntrboothax. They could also just patch homebrew to prevent things.
Long story short, most updates are for a reason

waiting for boot11loaderhax

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I mean specifically homebrew launcher rosalina support, not rosalina itself. And having layeredfs baked in to the cfw is something you can't get anywhere else.
