I'm really sorry for the offtopic and nooby question, but how do I turn source files from GitHub into what they're meant to be? I havent found anything that is actually helpful and I've been looking all morning. I even asked on a couple websites but no one has answered. I can't figure out how to ask questions on here either cause I can't find the "ask question" or "start thread" button in the Ask! section. I'm really frustrated by all of this right now.The source is always available on my Github, but yeah, I don't really distribute binaries of it anymore. Feel free to compile it yourself if you want to try it out.
@Crystal the Glaceon
How do you multi boot CFWs ? You need a boot manager like CtrBootManager9
Do you need to add different entries for each of them in luma/payloads , and make a different folder at the root of the SD ? The official thread actually gives you an example config set up, here. You do need to add an entry for each CFW/A9LH app that you want to run.
How to use CtrBootManager ? That is explained on the official thread
Cakes need firmware.bin and slotkey, I suppose it's pointless if we have a9hl right ? You still need all the files required to get CakesFW running, regardless if it's A9LH or Menuhax. So you still need the firmware.bin and slotkey.
Nice copy-paste to SaltFW from another CFW.Firm0/1 protection: If you are running A9LH, Firm0/1 protection is built-in, but needs to be turned on via the configuration menu.
Sometimes I get really lazy. So lazy, that I can't even come up with a creative excuse.Nice copy-paste to SaltFW from another CFW.
Also, maybe have a table instead of two seperate lists for A9LH/Menuhax.
Thanks I will add those now!Few minor things:
* CPU speed hack is supported on N3DS. It gets automatically hidden on O3DS because it does nothing.
* Luma supports the Dev patches as well. It just requires the Dev build.
Yeah, but Arch Linux is also more well-known, which is why I went for Arch Linux over a lesser known OS.I disagree with the characterization of Cakes as ArchLinux. ArchLinux is known for being unstable and breaking frequently. It's more like OpenBSD: it doesn't do anything fancy unless you run patches, but tends to be written extremely well and does things the "right way."
Quick question guys, If I set up A9HL, can I still use an emunand?
Hi"Crystal the Glaceon", may I pick your brain on what i should use for a cfw?Yeah, but Arch Linux is also more well-known, which is why I went for Arch Linux over a lesser known OS.
SaltFW also supports CRO editing but it's a9lh only.Hi"Crystal the Glaceon", may I pick your brain on what i should use for a cfw?
Currently I'm running Reinand and I like it, however I want to do "cro Editing" on Pk3ds like type modifications for making a custom ROM, however i read and experienced that CRO editing is only supported on Luma3ds. If so How can I change my cfw to luma from Reinand?
Thanks for creating this thread makes it easier for noob like me.
