I'll be willing to send 4 6 inch multi colour single strand 30awg wire at no charge for anyone trying to do the mod.

Edit: I will send you 24 inches of wire which is 1 colour wire at 6 inches.

I noticed some of you are using 26/24awg multi strand and that's to big for the mod.

Edit: I can also get these connector from my local mom pop electronic shop if anyone needs one. Since the connectors are a bit expensive I can not give them away at no charge like the 30awg wire. You would have to pay for the connector plus shipping.

They are a bit expensive but fit nicely, I used the same style mounting as the youtube tutorial.

Here are some pictures of the install I did

Just another nand dump mod.
01white.jpg 02black.jpg 03black.jpg 04ablack.jpg 05black.jpg

I used the same connector as jinnpan :) but I cut it a bit for better fit and put some hot glue an the bottom to cover soldering.

Q: Is it normal that MD5 are different on Admin and User account (Win7 x64) and with turned on/off Free COMODO Antivirus 6?

nice one.

but checksums should be the same no matter running tools or account

just keep in mind that the 3DS writes to the NAND on each boot, therefore the dumps differ after each boot.

Could you explain waht kind of issues
(because i have some too : hw mod detected by sdcard reader, but conenction drops
hw mod isn't detected by rasp pi)

I PM'd you as well, but I will post here in hopes it might help others....

For me, it simply didn't allow my PC to recognize the 3DS. The only thing I can assume is that it wasn't grounding properly. When I switched to the on board GRND point it worked like a charm (I did have some other issues with card readers too, but that isn't necessarily relevant here).

I made today another mod and I used ground poing placed at the bottom of 3DS card slot. Connection drops on every SD card reader.
Previous mods uses soldering point on the right to the Toshiba chip so I returned to this method.

Did SB try USB 3.0 SD reader with this mod?

Hello everyone, I just read the entire guide how to unbrick using raspberry pi, and it just suggests itself isn't it possible to do this without raspberry pi? for example using virtual linux or normal computer with linux? or is the code somehow designed for raspberry only? Sorry, never had any relations with linux.

Let us have the pros answer this:

because on the pi i have easy access to the SD interface on a really low level (in other words i can talk to the card directly).

SD readers (for sure those running via USB, not absolute sure about those running on PCI or PCMCIA) pretend not to be a SD card but a "regular" external drive (like an USB stick or harddrive) towards the OS and translate all the communication from OS to SD and SD to OS.

best way to see this is on linux: the SD slot on the pi (when using a default kernel containing the required drivers) sees a SD/(e)MMC as /dev/mmcblk0 (MMC blockdevice 0) and the same SD/(e)MMC in an USB adapter as /dev/sda(SCSI device a (don't mind the SCSI here, there are historical reasons for it. short version: coders are lazy.)) like a regular drive.

But you don't need an Raspberry Pi or an Arduino specifically: you just need a way to switch three or four (in each case with one common ground) electrical signals on and off with a frequency of 100 - 400 kHz. COM or LPT might work too for example (although regular computers sadly don't offer those ports anymore, it's always just USB).

Microcontrollers (like the chip driving the Arduino) are predestined for that job: do a small task involving some signals fast enough. Beefier SoCs (System on a chip, the microcontrollers big brother) like the Raspberry get even bored while doing it and dig their nose on the side.

Oh, and unlike dedicated unlocking hardware (I look at you, PS3 downgraders!) you can for sure find a use for the Raspberry (want a nice mediaplayer? a low energy downloaderclient? etc) or even for the Arduino (granted some more assembly required, but with Arduinos its quite easy to build nice clocks or lightcubes).

Does the battery fit in there with the wires like that?

If it does then there's a very good chance a microsd extension flat cable will also fit nicelly xD

If i were you, I would hide the serial number of the device or delete the screen shot.
Just in case...

Nah,thanks anyway for the tip

Now I'm happy and ok with my 3ds as long as it's working, but maybe somebody could tell me how to restore the system the the point before brick? I have an image off the sd card (it just doesn't have nand.bin inside the image, cause when i created emunand, I moved the nand.bin to a backup folder on my pc and the sd contained only saves and other stuff).

It's still like a puzzle to me because of poorly google translated guide.

I seen a mod that someone did that it went through the strap holder in the 3DS XL sides. What kind of wire and ports would I need?
