I haven't played Flash games in a long time, but I loved them back in the day when I didn't have consoles or a gaming-capable PC.
I remember liking mostly platformers. The Mario flash games were great. Some of the ones I can remember off the top of my head are Super Mario 63, and Super Mario Flash (and Flash 2). The latter basically was the original Mario Maker!

I would have to vouch for Heli Attack 2 and 3 (both Flash games). Fun, endless game of just shooting down helicopters as a lone soldier with cool, different weapons. I would love to see this game get ported to mobile phones.

In middle school our group used to play Gladiatus (an "idle rpg" where the main action is choosing not to play for some time and in the meanwhile your character fights and earns stuff)

As for flash games, there was this "puzzle in piscina 2" where you're a kid underwater moving vertically inside a pool and charge up farts to sink brats on floating things. lol.

Used to like Neave's/Nitrome's/Newgrounds' flash games, until it (the Flash plugin) became a security hole on our systems. The same applies to Java Runtime based ones.

When I was younger I used to play random games on Armor Games and Kongregate. My favorites were Sushi Cat, Elephant Quest and Burrito Bison mostly because they had cute stories.

Wild to see a thread from almost 10 years ago have a somewhat consistent comment schedule in just 2 pages, after a timeskip from 2013 to 2019.

My fav browser game (other than OldSchool RuneScape) will always be the first game I ever played on miniclip: Motherlode. Reliving it in Flashpoint is peak nostalgia! Especially since it doesn't randomly reset my progress the way my browser used to back in the day.

There are so many games that I loved to play in browsers. Some are gone now I think, but I will talk about them anyway, as well as games that have changed or that I don't know if they are still the same (we are talking decades now that I'm so old).

2000s:
-NabiscoWorld Minigolf (and related flash games): I loved these games. I just thought the play control and the gimmicks were really smartly done. I think this is still playable somehow, but I don't know how.
-Need for Madness: Absolutely my favorite racing game, or one of them at least. I loved the gameplay and the music. The sequel isn't bad either.
-Winterbells: Just a peaceful and fun infinite jump game
-Nanaca CRASH!: Hilarious game and tons of fun. Still running on an official mirror site.
-Miniclip Motobike: A weird game that was like motocross maniacs but with more flexibility (and more ways to fail). Very similar to Joe Danger, Trials, and other such "wacky neck-breaking simulators".
-Curveball: A 3D pong where you could put spin on the ball based on how you hit the ball

2010s:
-Bonk.io: I still have some fun with this game on occasion. It's just enjoyable to manipulate the physics. I wish it had a little less gimmick maps, as they aren't really that interesting past the first time or two that you see them
-Realm of the Mad God: I LOVED this game like 10 years ago, but once they started adding facebook integration and in-game purchases I stopped playing it. I would love a game that was similar but without the pay crap.
-Meme games: Winnie the Pooh Home Run Derby and Spongebob Boat-o-Cross were hilarious.
