Just trying to figure out what a good brand of printable DVDs are, I've been using Ritek +rs which seem not to scratch resistant so I am thinking of switching to -R Taiyo Yuden. I always thought Verbatim sucked but maybe I am just wrong? Please hit me back with your feedback.

Also to save me from making another poll if any of these are good on the Wii feel free to throw that input in there as well!

I pick up as many Verbatims as I can when Best Buy has a sale on them. But I never burn DVD movies (only for archival), so I can't comment on how they perform there.

I use whatever I still have, but only for archiving, I never burn DVD's to play on a DVD player, always seems like a waste, when I can get 5 plus on a the same disk, plus my computer has been resolution than my Tv's

Hi! I've never used printable blanks, but my favorites are TDK and Sony DVD+Rs....

Out of a hundred pack of Sonys I had no coasters and no compatibility problems and the same goes for the TDKs...

And those two brands go on sale quite often at Circuit City, which sweetens the deal!

(And for those wondering I have never noticed the first two brands for sale in any of the stores I shop...)

I've never used printable dvds myself. I have used the datawrite blue and at the moment I'm using the bulkpaq orange. Apart from an old xbox dvd drive having problems reading the bulkpaq orange, their very cheap for 50 and seem to work on almost anything.

Taiyo Yuden has great Hard Coat Bottom discs that are very scratch resistant... not to mention they're Taiyo Yuden discs

The #1 in compatibility, durability, and longevity. Never had a single bad burn, gone through around 800 TY inkjet printable discs in the past couple years.

Verbatims suck? I always thought they were up there with the taiyo.

The one's with "ScratchGuard" are what I use. Have a special coating similar to Blu-Rays which makes them scratch resistant.

In my experiences, the only thing wrong about Sony media is that they're more expensive than other brands of similar quality. Their higher availability counters this in some cases, but I would never trust anything other than Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or Sony (in that order) to back up anything important.

I won't use ANY friggin disk with a paper coating.

But I have found it's generally ok to buy a 100 spindle of danged near anything. I mean I buy them on sale, and if I end up throwing out 5 so what. 30 bucks divided by 100 equals who cares.

I've yet to hear anything thought of as better than Taiyo Yudens though.

I've never used any printable DVDs, but I prefer TDK ones since they are the ones I've had the least problems with.
