is anyone getting the extraction errors I was talking about ?
i'll say this again since i'm nice and don't want to make you read the whole thread.
the error while extracting is cuz your not super user type "gksudo nautilus" in terminal then a browsing window will pop up navigate to the folder containing the "debian-etch-4.0+whiite-0.1+xwhiite-0.1.tar.bz2" file and open it from within that window it should let you extract it to the whiite partition with out errors now.

EDIT: ok i'm in the works of installing usb wireless drivers hopefully when i'm done( if i'm successful )these drivers will be installed

and i'll make a tar.bz2 file of the Xwhite0.2 file system on my sd with these drivers preinstalled and maybe a few apps if requested.
and yes i know a few of the drivers are pci but i'm to lazy to edit the make file to not make them.

Are these the most common drivers for wifi adapters I assume? And it would be to hard to use the existing wifi in the Wii?
That would be awesome bro.. that way I can use the Wii on any tv in the house.... that's what I am talking about...
And what are the chances of putting openoffice on this as well or is that something to big for this to handle.. that way... if I was to say go on a trip out of town... I could have some work and play time all rolled up together? Seeing that my laptop was stolen a few months ago...and I can't afford another one as of right now...
EDIT: Or could I just go download the driver myself through my WiiLinux browser and install it that way?

By the way, I have a link for GParted LIVE cd... would that work on windows like ubuntu? If so.. I have it on a rapidshare link for anyone to grab... http://rapidshare.com/files/171116944/gpar...ive-0.4.0-1.iso
but I don't know if you extract to the xwhiite partition on the SD card with windows properly so that may not work as well?

And does anyone have a solution to me being able to see the top and bottom lines on the desktop with my TV? I tried changing the format on the TV and I don't see the option to change the format... there has to be a way!?!

You can flick it back with a toothpick if it fell off.

my old(no longer working) sandisk sd card did that.
i took a piece of tape and a small bit of paper put it over the un-lock icon workes like a charm.

i need a fav from someone with wii linux and the nintendo lan adapter that can get internet on there wii to install build essintial and linux kernel headers through apt-get and pm me the wii linux from there ext3 file system in a .zip file.

ok ive been trying to set this thing up for days lol... i have a partitioned sd card. 1 gig to be exact... and i know how to do that... the problem im having is that every time im trying to extract the tar.bz2 file... now even the new one... i get an error telling me "null"... what am i doing wrong? and dont worry... i know how to set up permissions... i mounted the sd card and gave my username the mount point not root so i dont have to use sudo nautilus... the command for that is:
sudo chown username:username mountpoint
where username is your username lol
and mountpoint is the partitioned mountpoint - you can find this out by secondclicking into properties and selecting the last tab... ex: my mount point was /media/Whiite

you may not have to use gksudo nautilus but try it anyway.

see the permissions are not the problem here... its the extracting... how do you do it in your linux... or should i extract in windows? im using ubuntu... and thanx for the quick reply!
