Hacking Xkey Questions

Well I can't tell you what to do and what not but honestly, a HDD would probably be faster then a USB drive..

Like I said, Lite ons are more technical to flash, and I don't want to go and buy disks and worry about all that ihasburner and imgburn stuff and whatnot. I'm getting this Xkey and not changing my mind . I just need to know if I need the probe to extract just the key or dump the firmware, how's it done?

Now you have second thoughts? I had a 1tb before which soon caught a virus for some reason..... waste of $62.

Eh, I never said anything second thoughts.
Just about how harddisks are financially a better solution then USB flash drives ._.
I can't change yer mind if yer keen on running it from a USB flashdisk, just saying that HDD's are easier and cheaper.

Also, HDD's can't catch virusses.
One of yer files was prolly infected.

And yes, you need a probe 3 to extract the keys from a Phatty Liteon

Nope, just extract the DVD key and place it on the micro SD of the Xkey and yer done.

Remember that the xkey needs the stock firmware, i always spoof the firmware i get from the probe to a fresh stock liteon firmware.

Providing OP has a stock firmware, conversion isn't needed.
But yes, other wise conversion is needed as well is renaming for Slims.

When you extract the DVD key from the DVD drive.
The Jungleflasher manual which comes with the download of Jungleflaher has answers to that ;]

What are the differences between all the available xk3y's?

Which mostly vary in shape, but also in function?

Function is exactly the same.
Ones without remotes make use fo MenuISO, ones with can use the remote or MenuISO.

You can also make a probe 3 your self with wire and a sewing needle that's what i did. there are videos on youtube its extremely easy.

Dont forget to mention that MenuISO and DVDMenu have their limitations, its my only gripe about the Xk3y

I have too many games and not enough ways to select it without using the remote.

OP, if you want convenience the wifi dongle is the best way to go. I'd recommend getting at least a remote with it, its worth the few extra $$.
