could someone tell me where I get the last Skill Books for Shulk? I'm at
the entrance of the Heart
and all my "normal" sword Skills are at VIII.

if newgame+ is not required, then I'll just complete it 100% with my current save.

I just finished my game and can say that you can chose to start a new game+, which you can either chose to overwrite your old save, or in a new slot.
So basicly you can play both a new game and your old save whenever you want.

A very few unique monsters only show up in new game+ i think the lvl 110+ ones, someone confirm this for me though because i don't like giving out false information

Ive played through the story again up to colony6/ether mine (new game+), and I have seen all different unique monsters across the normal levels.
As far as I can see, the game is exactly the same as a normal new game.

No, all the UM u can fight in the normal game (not game+) even the 114-120 lvl UM. (to unlock them you need to be near the end of the game)
in the new game+ there isn't new UM.
in the new game + you have more chance to kill them with the new shulk weapon (i dont want spoil)

Too late ¬_¬

Well, if unique monsters are unlocked in normal game, then it will depend how many free time I have to play the game again from the start. (I'm hoping to complete it before Zelda release).

I'm now almost at 200H of game play, and I'm level ~90
(Doing all possible missions before going to the next map take a log of time!)
(I'm waiting to be able to beat the lv96 spider to unlock the 3rd giant's treasure)

I noticed that the characters could unlock a "right column" skills by talking to specific PNJ and completing the given mission.

Don't mind the picture's glitches, it should be caused by d2x beta debug output.

I've unlocked a lot of members and I missed only Reyns, Shulk and Riki to unlock.
I just completed Reyn's mission and unlocked his ...
LEFT column?
gallery_746_244_327588.png

So, all characters can unlock both left and right skills? If it is, then I'm still far from completing the game 100%, I thought I spoke to almost everyone already
Unlocking skills after 190H is always fun

Anyway, do you know where I can unlock Riki's right column skills? And Reyn's right one too by the same occasion?
I think I have an idea for Shulk, so I'm only missing Riki's.
I'll try to find the other one myself...

you have to speak to everyone multiple times
much of dialog has to be unlocked first by certain things like missions or speaking to someone else first
even chains like talking to A, B ,A, B and A again

afaik right can be unlocked much earlier in the game then left

Does the story of the game have biblical references like Xenogears and Xenosaga did?
I heard they're somewhat related
Also sorry if this has been asked, I don't want to check 25 pages of text.

Hm well... It is about gods and creation of the world(s) so... Its kinda religios i guess. Never played xenogears or xenosaga so no idea if the storys are connected somehow...

Nope, nothing so far referencing about Judeo-Christian-Islamic lore.
Xenoblade is a completely different story all together.

I didn't find any religious relation with encrypted meanings like in Xenogear/Xenosaga.
As said, this is about god creating the world, but not in the same aspect of the other "xeno" game. all is explained in Xenoblade, you don't have to find any relations to real religions.
They just renamed Monado into "Xeno" at the end, but it's not part of the Xeno serie.

Hm I had no idea about the extra skill trees... Is there any guide available for them?
I can list the one I found.

In fact, I'll use this post to make my mini guides :)

======================= X E N O B L A D E :blank: M I N I G U I D E ===========

I know I could just check a guide on the net, but I prefer our community helping each others :)
I'll update all of them while I make progress in the game myself.

Attention, it can contains spoiler with character's names and events, as it requires you to reached certain part in the game to unlock these new events.

Shulk
Right:Colony9. First, when you need to get the "Little Captain" quest, bring her the shield which is located in Colony6 map. (well, that's what I did, but maybe the sword from Satorl marshes works fine too), she will disappear from the colony. Later go talk to Miller at around 6AM, he will ask you to search for her in another map. Go to the Mine, she is located in the rest room where you find Otharon. Talk to her to unlock it.

Left:Colony 9. May require 5 stars. Talk to Désirée (french name :/) near the Ether's generator near 9PM. Talk to her a lot of time until she asks you to choose her job for her. Both choices will unlock the skill.
-If you pick military, the other soldiers like her (if you talk to them), but there's nothing changed in the relation's graph.
-If you pick sculptor, Betty will be jealous and you will have a new quest to make everyone happy. You will have a new connexion in the relation's map. I think this choice is better.

gallery_746_244_2096.png
Reyn
Right:
Requirements: Col6 completed. Invited Hoko (nopon village), and a Hayente (Alcamoth, can be invited before Bionis awakening).
Complete the Quest from Hoko to make a better food.
Then talk to Rosaelle with Reyn, she wan't bad food again. Talk to Hoko and bring him the ingredient. Talk to Rosaelle again.

Left: At Colony9, go to residential area, just after the entrance bridge, you have three kids playing. Two human and a Nopon. You need to complete all quest so they are good friends first. Then they ask to talk to a big guy only. You need to go to Tephra's cave beat Lv95 monsters ! (I'm level88 and it was not too hard). (After Bionis wake, go to Satorl to fight apes if you are 70s, and then go to Alcamoth for 30k exp per enemy if you are 80s. you'll win 10 levels easily)

gallery_746_244_69.png
Sharla
Right: Go to Frontier Village, at the floor where you meet the elder the first time, with the light in the middle. You need to complete all the mission from Rasha and her nephew Cherri (Rasha and Cherri in French, I hope it's name the same in english). Rasha want Cherri to be happy after her mother's death, but Cherri is just annoyed by her aunt. At the end, Rasha ask to talk to Sharla only. Complete the mission on eryth sea (very very easy), go to bottom-right beach to kill a hound.

Left: On Colony 6, complete all the missions with the Hayente and Homz which are in love. The Homz is coming from Colony9 and always at the foot of the watch tower. After completing all the missions to keep the Hayente's father busy, and try to let him agree with this relationship, out of agreement the couple quit the Colony 6 and go to the Marshes, in the Nopon's cave. Talk to the couple with Sharla and go back and talk to the father at Colony 6 to unlock the skills.

gallery_746_244_3050.png
Dunban
Right: Valak mountain. Go to the Nopon camp and complete all the missions from Dadako. At the end he will give you a mission to fight two unique monster (Power Balance).
The two boss are at the same place, just above the Nopon's camp.
Go up before sliding and jump to go to the tunnel on the other side. Once on the big ice tunnel, you will have to jump again before the end to land on the upper area. There you will have the Ant boss, and you can't find the other one .... he's caught in a spider cocoon :P

Left: Talk to Okto in Machina's town, after Bionis awakening. It's the kid who stopped growing. He is on the edge, by night. HE will ask you to fight 3 monsters (not unique monster, but special one for the mission). go back and talk with Shulk this time to unlock Dunban skill.

gallery_746_244_1027.png
Melia
Right: The first and easier one is for Melia. Go to Eryth sea, you have to fix the Lighthouse. Once fixed, you talk with a woman at the top of the lighthouse who says that she will speak only with someone her race. So switch to Melia, read, done. You unlock "shy".

Left:
Requirement:
- You need to complete the decrypter's quest in Alcamoth before Bionis awakening (Talk to Rheos and Natehris).
- You need access to Sealed doors (check Satorl's quest from a hayente after Bionis awakening)
- Lv ~95
Talk to Thalea, on Eryth sea. She will ask you to check the church in Valak's mountains. Go there and at the end of the path check the Giant's statue. After that you have to fight a Lv99 Bulba. Go back to Thalea.

gallery_746_244_1339.png
Riki
Right: Go to the floor where you can jump to the pool. You will find Dabidabi by night.
Go down and talk to Adidi, then go to Eryth sea's Island number 7 to kill Edkino.
Then talk either to Adidi or Dabidabi to get Riki's skill.

Left: First you need to 4 or 5 stars, or maybe it's dependent of the current story progress.
You need to go to Frontier village Floor 0, near the pool. Pikipi should give you a quest to find the Nopon's sage near Makna's falls. He want to be able to eat anything.
Go to the top place over the falls, take the tunnel and go out of it to the other side. The sage will appear between 1PM and 2PM.
It's all a go back and forth game : sage > pikipi. then Sage > pikipi > Sage > nopon girl at a top floor in frontier village > Sage. Sage > Fight monster in the middle island of the Makna's falls (Lv95) > Sage.

gallery_746_244_2259.png
Fiora
Right: Go to Machina's town on the arm. you need to have at least 3 stars for Machina town's rank and have completed the quest "The Wilted Flower".
It's at the entrance of the town, there's a balcony with a human the night and machina the day. Talk to the human (Karlos), he will give you a fighting mission.

Left: [thanks to [member="Lucif3r"]]
Quest: "Battling the Brutes"
Level ~95 (Mobs are level 98).
Starts: Dulland - Refugee camp (Bionis Leg)
Pre-Req:
-Securing provisions complete
-The Moon book/blood of bafalgar complete
-A Flower for a Rose Complete

Hint: Start killing the godrill from the back (very easy).
Once dead, switch your party with Melia/sharla/someone else (I took Shulk as 3rd member), to kill the spider.
The spider is very annoying as each hit make you dizzy, so long range member are best, just heal a lot and cast regen with Melia whenever possible.

C9, Little captain: Talk to Emmy Leater, she want to win the fight so she ask you to bring her either the shield or the sword.
Shield: located at Colony6. She loose and leave C9. Later you will have a quest to bring her back and unlock Shulk's skills (see the skill unlocking spoiler above).
Sword: Located in the swamp, either near the Sororal statues, or later in the game at the Nopon's camp. The blade is poisoned and she will loose her respect with others (bad relation graph with her superior, but good one with Miller). maybe later you can unlock Shulk's skills and bring the good relation back too. I didn't do that choice.

C9, The brother's fighting: Talk to Zukazu at the entrance of residential area, by night. He want you to bring an orange pollen orb to win the fight and leave the town for adventures.
Talk to his brother located in the garden of the elder's house, by night. He asks you to give the pollen orb to him instead, because he's afraid that his brother will die if he leave the town.
Give to the human: The human win the fight, the noppon stay at Colony9 and his angry against his brother. bad relation graph.
Give to Nopon: The nopon win the fight and leave Col9. The brother is happy nevertheless, and ask you to prepare his brother's return by giving you a quest. Later, go to the camp on the leg, by night, you will find Zukazu and he is happy :) good relation graph, and a newer branch added if you completed the lying guy quest.

C9, the man's love / The woman's love
In the military base, you'll find a woman who asks you to bring her some magical love water to charm her loved man (which don't care about her). she is located near/behind the lab, by night.
Another man ask you the same thing, because he is in love with her.

Bring to the woman: The targeted man loves her, she is happy, but the man is only playing with her and will reject her when he had enough. The other man is angry all to the end of the game.
Bring to the man: The woman lived a married life with someone she didn't really love and think her life was a waste and missing something important.

Frontier village, Alcoholic pool: Talk to a nopon on floor0 by night, he wants to parfum the pool. (talk to his wife by day, floor0 too).
if you bring Kiwi: I don't know :(
If you bring the other one: his wife is mad against him, really bad relation's graph. I don't know if you can fix it. (<-- I did this one).

Colony 6, a Noporith the nopon and Maelissa the Hayente:
Requirement: Garden level5, completed all the Telessia's quest in Alcamoth after restoring the teleporters.
Talk to the nopon in the garden, he wants a foul water because he has enough of Maelissa caring for him. He asks you to not talk to her.
- Bring the foul water: Go to Satorl to find it in a poisonous swamp. The nopon is happy. The hayente doesn't care, but the relationship is a little bad.
- Talk to Maelissa: She asks that you bring a perfume instead. Go to Makna's fall to find the pure perfume on the middle island. Bring it to Noporith. Noporith is angry, but the relationship and town's rank is better than before :)

Colony9, Military help:
Requirement: I don't know :P, maybe Colony 6 completed?
Talk to Raoul at the entrance of the Military facility, he will ask you too talk to Minnie and Dorothy and choose the one who should work with him.
Go talk to Minnie, she will give you a fighting mission : 5 Rhana (You may need Ranah's skin for a Shulk's mission, in the military lab, keep them).
Then go talk to Dorothy, she will give you an item picking mission (Heart peach) in Alcamoth.
Then go back to Raoul.
- Choose Minnie: Dorothy is still happy and they are still good friend :)
- Choose Dorothy: Minnie is angry and jealous because she has more experiences.

Colony6, selecting a boyfriend.:
Requirement: Col6 completed?
talk to the girl on the balcony on the house at the right of the entrance of Col6. She wants you to find 5 possible guys to love.
At the end you'll have a choice between Nick or Juliel (Hayente).
You can choose whichever you prefer, the result is (almost) the same :
- Select the Hayente : nick don't care, they are still good friend.
- Select Nick : The hayente don't have poem inspiration anymore, but they are still good friend.
I guess it's better to select the Hayente.

  • Sonia at Colony 9: ("Mante Minute" in French)
  • Lupa in frontier village, archeology level by night: love beetle
  • Rakzet in Machina's town (on the island): Celestial engine Y
  • Maelissa, in colony6: Lucky charm piece of money.
  • Oleksiy, in Colony6 (after moving from C9 to C6), at the watch tower: Golden gears/wheel.
  • Jaech, at Earyth sea's Hayente camp : Thunder compass.
  • ... one item missing form my list, I'm still looking.

That's all for he moment, I'm still looking around for the last two missing items.

Each characters can make a gift to another one by going into the last category in the item inventory.
Affinity is becoming stronger or weaker for each items.
Here are the good items I found:

gallery_746_244_1027.png
=>
gallery_746_244_3050.png
: Star's tear (found in Alcamoth)

And the hints I got:
- Homz like insects.
- builder like fruits.
- Hayentes like mechanic parts.
- Melia like flower and acid food., She likes everything cute.
- Reyn like everything savage.

That's all :(

Information: The Giant's treasure is a quest spanned all over the game.
You will have to accomplish three quests at different places to find three different objects.

Requirement: You can do the three next "Hidden item quests" before unlocking this main quest.
The main quest is unlocked only later in the game (95%).

Quest:
After Bionis and Mekonis fight, the Hayentes will be all over the world.
Go to Valak's mountain, in the tower entrance to talk to a Hayente and get the main quest.

He will tell you to rescue his friend which is on the Valak's pick.
To reach it you need to follow this:

  • Go to the Nopon camp on lower floor. On the left you have a lava cave where you can find a hot rock to melt ice walls.
  • Go to Valak entrance. Start walking to the bootom of the mountain and take the first cave on the right. Melt the ice.
  • Follow the left path after the cave, you will have a looong sliding path full of ice and at the end you will have to jump at the right time to reach the other side of the map.
If you jump too late, you fall in the water.
If you jump too earlier, you fall on the top of the other side, in the snow and you instantly die.
You have to jump in order to meet the wall while pressing UP on the analog (you can climb it).

Once you recued him and get back to the tower, he will give you the Giant's treasure mission.
Required level: ~Lv40, Lv90-93 if you want to fight the last boss of the quest (not required).

Quest:
  • Talk to the nopon group in Sarotl marshes.
  • Save the nopon in the lizard's men castle. Either come from the main entrance (lot of fights and an unique monster), either from the back door (easier, no fight at all). Too bad, she already talked to them and revealed the secret.
  • Go back to Nopons group.
  • Go kill a group of 5 lizard's men under the castle, and grab the key.
  • Return to castle, there's a secret entrance to the roof behind the king's chair. (Enter from the rear door if you don't want to fight the boss each time)
  • Examine the altar,
  • Report to Nopon, she says you need a mirror from an old temple on Bionis leg (you already have it. If you don't, go to Bionis's leg, it's located at the west of the lake (at the top of the map))
  • Return to the roof in the marshes and place the mirror on the altar. You obtain a Giant's hidden relic : Giant's guts. And now .... run ! You don't have enough levels to fight that :wtf:
  • Return to Nopon, she informs you about the Giant's hidden relics and tells you that the quest will continue later on another place of Bionis.

It's too bad that we can already do that quest but don't have the level to fight the spider boss :(
It should be the spider which give the mirror, it would be more logic to fulfill the missions after you beat it only.
Edit: in fact, It's to test your courage, so it's called "giant's guts". test your courage to go there and come back without fighting.
Required level: ~Lv40
Required game completion: You need to complete the Eryth sea chapter and be able to go to the top of Makna's forest map with the ship.
Stars needed: You need 2 stars to start it, and 3 stars to complete it, in Frontier village.

Quest:
  • After completing the Eryth sea chapter, you go there by plane to head to snowy mountains. Instead of going to the mountains head to the bottom, there's a broken bridge, and two nopon ask you to fix it. find the needed items to fix it.
  • Go to the king Agni's tomb on Makna's upper area. This area is available by going on the left instead of going to the snowy mountain.
  • Try reading the red stone
  • Go back to the Nopon near the fixed bridge, he will told you to go and talk to Lupa at the archeology level in Frontier village, by night.
  • That Nopon (Lupa) asks you to find 3 ancient scripts, you can find them here:
    1. On the little land across the Bridge 2 and 3.
    2. Follow the river from Makna's fall, it's on a cave on the right.
    3. Near the tomb, at the right just before the exit to the snow mountains
  • With the 3 ancient scripts, talk to Lupa again to decipher it, and go to the tomb entrance to open the door.
  • Fight the unique monster (lv46 if I remember), then check the coffin.
  • Go back to Lupa, she says that you need some oil to open it, it's available in Eryth sea (It's the robot monsters on tiny floating islands between teleporters, the one with a ball in the center and two arms, like the one found at the necropolis).
  • Go back to Lupa, she gives you the lubricant for the tomb
  • Make a trade with her, she has a unique item for the last page of your collection book.
  • Go to king's Agni tomb, fight the unique monster again (hell, when we want them they don't re-spawn, and when we hope they are not there, they always re-spawn!)
  • Go down and check the real tomb.
  • Grab Monado's ruin (New skill) & Warrior's soul (enhancement skill books). (do not use the enhancement skill book if you don't have the skill! but read the Monado's ruin to learn the new skill. About enhancement book, you can directly learn advanced even if you don't have intermediate yet.)
  • Go back to the Nopon, she will give you the second Giant's item : Giant's heart and 10 000 exp :).
Requirement: ~Lv95+
Required game completion: You need to have access to Tephra's cave 2 to start this quest. You will have access anyway if you are Lv95!

Quest:
  • Go to the tomb of Bafalgar (the square place on the middle of the map) and talk to the scientist (Shura).
  • Kill the spider (Lv96)
  • Go back to the tomb to place the spider's heart on the altar, and go read the next tomb's stone.
  • Talk to Shura, then go to the path on floor4, take the new script and bring it back to Shura.
  • Strange enough, the new path (at the bottom, bellow Shura's position) opened even before I talked to her, but I talked to her first, just in case.
  • take the moon book, and talk to Shura again.
  • Go to Colony9, at the restaurant, by night, and take the Giant's treasure.
Requirement: ~Lv95
Required game completion: Enable this main quest. See the first Giant's hidden treasure's spoiler.

Quest:
  • Go to the top of Valak's pick, and you will have a door with three holes.
  • Check the door, there's already the Giant's artifact on the door.
  • Once open, you have a monster which appear (Lv100 but very easy if you are already ~95+)
  • Go to the temple and open the tomb. You will find two good heavy armor, and a VERY bad Mekonite piece of equipment ... I still don't understand why they give bad equipment while you require good level and good equipment already to reach this point in the game... Well, whatever.

I think the giant's treasure is not worth all the quest's trouble.
It's just an excuse to make quests for higher level players.

If you want a list of all items, monster's drops, Item's exchange rate, etc.
you can check this google code :

I spent a good 90 hours on Xenoblade on my first play through, and I didn't find anything explicitly Christian or Catholic in lore, The only religious aspects that I found were already mentioned - that of a god wanting to recreate a world. I suppose you could look further into some of the more general ideas, like the idea behind the spiders fighting the giants and such, but that's really, if anything, mere hints of a bigger picture, not necessarily religion.

I missed some of the extra trees on my first play through as well. Aaaand I didn't find any skill books for Shulk, besides Battle Soul and Shaker's Edge :/

For Shulk, I have all Monado's powers unlock to Level10 (but not yet learned, not enough PA).
There were one or two skills I could only learn with a book. The first one I found it in Giant's quest #2, and the other one I forgot where I found it. maybe it was for someone else?

For normal skills, I have 4 skills at level X and 4 skills which are at level VII.

It's usually unique monsters which dropped them, and I got a lot of them on enemies at Agniratha.

No problem :)
I hope to find the other ones.

I'm trying to upgrade Col6 right now.
I'm missing some items.
"Black bean", as a hint "you can find it in a creepy place" well, that helped me a lot, thank so much
I guessed it's inside Bionis, I'm missing one vegetable in the collection book.

And I don't remember where are the enemies "Rhanas". It sound like fishes, pirhanas maybe?

Edit:
Oh, just noticed: Hard enemies lv80+ just drop shit as weapons...
And doing missions that require killing Lv80+ monsters to access super secret place, you just open the treasure chest in that super secret place to find ... shit again. You'll never use that to fight high leveled monsters.

Too bad that there's no better weapons.
Maybe it's my current weapon which are too good? they are just common one found in shops, like MachinaII.

Mmm... Weapons I remember getting better ones than the Machina ones. Though they don't damage Mechons.
I think you're just having bad luck with your drops.Though you can cheat the treasure chests by saving before you open them, then load if they dont have anything good.
