Hmmm not liking the direction they decided to go with this sequel, something feels off compared to the previous version.

Might be the art or the chars idk

The art direction makes it feel like a different game, definitely. I can't say I dislike it, it's probably the only game on Switch that's making me consider buying one.

This hasn't hooked me at all. Loved Chronicles and X was fun, but this seems really boring. I'll buy it anyways, becoz I need an RPG to play on the Switch, but here are my complaints:
    1. Far too cliche'd
    2. Art style does not look appealing at all...
    3. Gameplay doesn't look interesting
    4. Story doesn't look like it's going anywhere or doing anything cool
    5. The environments seem much smaller and more lackluster than the Wii and Wii U Xenoblades had
    6. It seems off
    Prove me wrong, MonolithSoft.

Yeah, I didn't understand what it was at first but something about the new direction is a bit off to me. Compared to Chronicles, this doesn't seem as if it stands out as much.

Still excited to see how it'll turn out though.

Thought shitty dubs were a thing of the past but no, they still live on.

Hope you can change the voice language. I liked that about a lot of Atlus JRPGs.

    Earth, bro-dude.
It reminds me of a "Tales" game, specifically Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

Art style looks weird. I don't think it's bad, but the first two had more realistically proportioned characters so it's weird to see a switch to a more chibi art style. Reminds me of Final Fantasy IX or Bravely Default.
Calling it cliched seems like a bit of a stretch since we don't really know anything about it yet.

At your current screen. And in heaven
Well, at first I thought it was a turn-based RPG, but now I'm looking the gameplay and it seems a really good game. Definitely I'll be buying it

OMG the game play looks for so good in the Treehouse stream, the graphics looks so much better in motion than in the trailers; can't wait!

The question is... 30 or 60fps?

Looks to be 30 FPS, with this type of art style and graphics engine I wouldn't be surprise the first Xenoblade Chronicles is going to get a remastered treatment for the Switch using the same engine.

IMHO Xenoblade Chronicles 2 looks to be a prequel of the first game and I'm assuming Monolith is already working of the third installment for the series which is going to be a sequel to first game.

I'm also assuming Monolith has plans for a Xenoblade Trilogy on the Switch, with the first one being remastered the last one coming near the end of the Switch's life; in chronological order story wise f a Trilogy happens for the Switch: Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Gotta love how Nintendo works their art style in a way that makes their hardware good enough to make their ideas work!

The trailer didn't do much for me but I'm warming to it a bit after watching this demo:
