I'm selling my Xbox 360, and I did the hard drive format that required my serial number, but I'm trying to do a master reset. The one with the code in the System Info menu, what I'm trying to do is to make the Xbox run the initial setup on boot as if you plugged in for the first time. My friend I'm selling it to has never used an Xbox so I just want him to get a good start.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I've tried maybe 20 different master reset codes, none of them worked. It would just take me back to the console settings menu.

You should try this:
1. Settings
2. System
3. Console Settings
4. System Info
5. Combination: LT, RT, X, Y, LB, RB, X, X, X, X

That's one of the combinations that didn't work for me unfortunately... I just did the Hard Drive format and boxed it up. But if I could just go off topic real quick, it's about UPS delivering my PS3, I don't like making new threads too much.

I know that they deliver only on weekdays, but does transportation happen during weekends, like going between checkpoints? I ordered using expediated shipping within the United States, I'm sure I'll get my console by Tuesday or Wednesday, if I got it Monday, I would drop a brick, and I'm not talking the phat PS3 I ordered. lol

I'm tracking it and sometimes, it takes more than a business day to update checkpoints.

EDIT: I guess it does, maybe they do on Saturdays. I saw that it departed on Saturday at 1:36am. I'm in Ohio so that's why it's taking a while since it's on ground.

The harddrive is empty and that is what counts really ;p

I don't think that the guy would bother reading trough the initial settings etc.
He just wants to play a game and that's all.

I sometimes import stuff from the USA and Asia etc.
I have to wait for 2 weeks plus for it to be delivered.
Just be patient and it'll turn out fine.

This is just from California to Ohio, it's not going outside the country, but it's ground. It takes over 20 hours to get from Ohio to California on ground, so tracking might update early Sunday morning. I think it's the "from UPS store to doorstep" delivery on business days. I'm just expecting to get this before labor day weekend when I come home from campus, which is why I did expediated, because with standard UPS to USPS, the USPS delivery, no joke, left the state, then came back and I got an important package a day late. So I'm just going to let UPS do all the work. By important, I meant a school textbook. lol

Damn.
Lot of shipping for just a textbook xd

Hmm I'm sure it'll turn up fine.
National shipping here can also take a few days to max a week.

Alrighty! I mean, obviously it won't arrive tomorrow because tomorrow's Sunday, but if there are any shipping updates, I'm sure I would catch it! :)

Call xbox customer service. I hear the factory default combination is dependent on the serial number. I had one that none of the listed codes worked, but when I called Xbox customer service they had a code for me. I told them I bought it used and was locked out of family settings.

I already boxed it up, but DinohScene made a good point, all my customer wants to do is just play. I have no strict family settings activated so there's no reason for me to do that, I was aiming for a "right out of the store" system ordeal. Wasn't that important anyway. After I formatted it, I went to Xbox.com and turned Xbox Live renewal off so it would go back to silver after it expires.
