Usb has nothing to do with what Rydian said.
Hes talking about the actual digital signals. being wired to the 3ds's digital signals, bypassing usb completely.
Would would make perfect sense, and would be why he didnt use the analog stick.
Ah, thank you for correcting me, and thank you for not using Rydian's pompous mannerisms to me.

Still, as I said above, it's entirely useless. If they made the 3DS control a 360, PS3, or PC, then it'd be worth checking out IMO.

It is pretty useless outside of the "look what i did" area.
And your mistake was pretty easy to make; I thought that was what he meant before I read it a second time.

This is simply one of the easiest hacks out there, he/she just re-routed all the switches over to a 360 pad.

Cool, but nothing to get head over heels. BTW, he has probably added a port next to the headphone port to pass thru the various cables/signal. DE-15 connector anyone?

I don't think anyone that knows me would deny my modding/hacking status, but my cell phone's still a Samsung Blast. Stop using your computer telepathy, please.

Who says the controller wasn't modified as well? The button and d-pad sensors are simple things that just send a signal when the connection is created. Bridging that connection to the same one internally on the 3DS would be simple for anybody that knows electronics.

The analog is a whole different story, that'd need it's own little controller to translate the signals, but you'll notice he didn't use the analog...

A USB device has 4 wires.
Even if you reprogram it that way, you could only get away with four button assignments UNLESS the 3DS has USB functionality. Without them using the SAME data transmitting code, you can only assign one button to one wire.

I know what I'm talking about here, please don't argue with me and essentially say I'm an idiot like you usually do, just let someone else if you still think I'm wrong. I REALLY REALLY do not want you hear you doing that crap to me again.
you do know 2 of those wires are 5v and GND ?
anyway it looks like its custom and not usb

i say edited video: first every low quality video looks suspicious to me, then, if you watch carefully, you can see even lower quality video on the 3DS buttons when he press the Xbox pad

conclusion I really think it's a fake

Compression artifacts are abundant on 240p youtube videos.

Hey I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this in. But it's worth a shot.

I'm trying to mod a gamecube controller to work with a 2DS/3DS I've come across this website which has helped a lot but I don't speak Japanese and it's become quite hard to continue.

I wanted to see if anyone has done something like this or can point me in the right direction. It looks like this guy on the website has modded several 3DS' in different ways. So I believe it can be done.

Cool mod, but I can't help but compare this to the difficulty of playing a PSP Go with a wireless PS3 controller... I don't know if this still can be done with the Vita, though.

Edit: Forgot only the Go could do it, as it had bluetooth.
