use a preloader hack to make them region free, thats the best way

So that actually works on NES game w*ds then? So I just do a regular NTSC - Mega Man 6 inject into Kirbys adventure w*d...

and then set Preloader to what? Region Free VC? Never seen that setting..?

*Edit*

Didn't have such a setting - nor could i find a hacks.ini w one...anywhere i could find one?

*Edit 2*

Tried enabling everything that said region free in my current preloader hacks - still got black screen + wiimote kill from the wad.
HELP!

It's region free channels

Tried that - didn't work...

Has ANYONE in the PAL Region managed to get a NES NTSC W*d working on their PAL Wii?

Please POST!

Thanks

/pete

yes, use a nand-loader replacement, if its a newer wad you will also have to add code for error 002 fix, i use a nand-loader that forces ntsc with a error 002 fix, and any ntsc wad will work on my PAL wii, BUT since its an NTSC signal you need a TV that is compatable with NTSC 60hz (not PAL60)

Hi Stev418. Would you mind posting your nand loader with 002 fix please? I'm trying to get the Wii Fit Plus Channel to work on my PAL wii and I'm getting the 002 error. I've uncompressed 01.app and I'm using Waninoko's Nand Loader.

If you could post the source too that would excellent as I need to add in the code to fix the date bug.

Thanks!

no worries, also send in PM but ill post for other who may want to look

oh and just remembered, if the 00000001.app is lz77 compressed you will need to decompress that too, i didnt/coulnt add lz77 decompress to the nand loader, would be great if someone could do that, code is available to do it for lz77 (10 and 11) from triiforce or taiko

I realize I am drudging up an old topic, which is quite dead to me, but here is my scenario and question in regards to these tools

not sure if this is possible, no big deal if it isn't. I have my brother in law's NAND dump and he has a few virtual console titles that I wanted to install on my Wii. I know I can just use Triiforce and load up his NAND which I have already done in order to play some of his Virtual Console titles. But I was wondering if it is possible using ShowMiiWads to extract the titles as wads I can install on my Wii. I tried this already but when I use Wad Manager v1.7 with my cIOS249 rev 17 or rev19 I cannot get the wads to install. I always get error 1020. I read that the wads needed to be fake-signed, not sure if that is correct. I can install other wads, such as forwarder wads and all but not these titles in particular. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. I have tried dragging and dropping the wads onto wwPacker - JustSign but I can never install them using Wad Manager.

However, if I were to go to a certain site and download a wad file for a game and install it using Wad Manager it works. How are the wads out on sites different from a Wad I can get from ShowMiiWads, is there something I can do to these wads to allow them to be installed on my Wii?

One of the .bat files is "_wwpacker-JustSign.bat". I think if you use that on the WAD you'll be able to install it on other Wiis normally.

hey alpha!
i'm using your _wwpacker-Loader.bat in combination with a working common-key.bin and stev418's loader.bins and your work is really good and works for the most things! thanks for that!
i only got one problem, that i also postet in the thread of the stev's loader mod: the produced games won't reset properly.
whenever i reset via the wii reset button in a patched vc i land in the health-safety screen instead of going back to the n64 logo.
because i'm doing speedruns this is quite bad for me, can you help me out with that problem?
because i think removing the reffering of the reset function would not be hard for you if you build it in intentional, right?
greetings and honor for your good work,
serious

Is wwPacker considered current/safe for use? I couldn't find any information to suggest otherwise, but I hit a slight snag when using it in conjunction with the Wii U's Wii Mode (vWii). With a NAND backup of my actual Wii and ShowMiiNand/ShowMiiWads, I created WADs of the Amazon, Netflix, Everybody Votes, and Check Mii Out channels. I unpacked each with wwunPacker, then ran each through the FakeSign bat; I copied my Common-Key from the ShowMiiWads folder for the packer. When prompted, I chose the fakesign option for title and ticket and re-packed the WADs. They installed fine, but after rebooting to the System Menu it froze (hard freeze, no music). Luckily it would always freeze about 2 seconds after the Safety Message, so I clicked to enter the HBC before those 2 seconds occurred. From there I used Anytitledeleter MOD and removed the four channels I added, fixing the freeze. Now I'm afraid to try any further, but my natural inclination tells me to try running the WADs through the Justsign bat instead. Just curious if anyone had any feedback to that regard.

Sorry, I really don't mean to do necroposting, but I need to play Starblade on my Wii 4.3E PAL, and all I get are black screens, so I figured I could try with the custom nand loader, the problem is the wwpacker link is dead, I can't find it on the web as all links come here, anyone could mirror it? Thanks!
