Have you actually run into a bug? I doubt it.

Just use this version, it's the only one that exists at this point.

So I was looking through my old Wii programs to see if I had this, mine doesn't show the version number in the folder name but looking at what scripts are present vs the one available in matt!'s post mine has to be one of the real early versions (doesn't even have the regionfree script added in v1.6).

I went and got this VC_Injecting_Tools set to check which version wwPacker it had

Look here: VC_Injecting_Tools_G0dLiKe-iNT, into Injecting_Tools folder (taken from this website)

And from the release notes:

What's new in v1.84:
- add: the region(country) string patch is now an option in the plus script.
- improve: packer scripts are now using the last ticket when the ticket file contains data of more than one ticket.
- improve: FreeTheBug script is now having options for users to choose the patches they want.
- update: FreeTheBug v1.12, this version adds the nand permissions patch. (See FreeTheBug.txt)

It must be v1.84 because it does have the FreeTheBug v1.12

Might want to grab it while it's still available...

I checked it. And it turns out that @G0dLiKe in his tools pack has included wwPacker v1.84, that's I wanted! Thanks very much @DaMan4169
