Hacking wupinstaller troubleshooting

Hacked Wii U, Y cable for USB device, using wupinstaller. Games without updates seemed to work.. I was able to launch AVGn and Mario 3D World. However, Mario Maker with update returned a "there is a problem with usb storage device" error when i tried to launch the installed game/update... So it seemed there was a problem installing game/updates at the same time.

I tried to delete Mario Maker game/update off USB device... received same error. So I formatted.

Tried different game. Mario Kart 8 with update and DLC. Selected all of them and hit install through wup. Game installed fine but update install froze at 100% (2/3). Music is still playing.

What do I do now since its frozen during install? Have any of you had this problem or have any idea how to fix it?

UPDATE: Powered down. Deleted MK8. Formatted. Trying to install MK8 game then update separately.

So now I was able to install the game, then the update... but when i launch the game it says it needs to be updated... is this normal?

This is what I want to do, sounds awesome. I have some reading to do on this. Hope theres good resources somewhere.
