Since the Sky3DS limit is unnecessary I was wondering if they'd ever release a Sky3DS 2.0 with no limit in order to compete with Gateway's 9.20 exploit.

If there was no limit I'd get one. Plug + play with no worry about exploits or emunand or anything would be worth the premium to me.

What do you think?

Nah, probably because of the whole region-locking thing, if that could be overcome and with a cheaper price, then maybe.

- No region free
- Can't play eshop games
- Takes like a minute to swap a game via button
- "Homebrew"

While I may consider getting one, these are major deal breakers for me that warrant the use of a gateway.

No i still prefer Gateway. Sky 3ds doesnt have a good multirom feature, imagine pressing that button 100 times

As a >4.5 owner and if Gateway can't deliver I would certainly consider it. Though no menu is certainly a pain.

The cost of a Gateway and a 4.5 is about $300 vs $100 for sky.

If I was starting with nothing I would go 4.5 or N3DS + Gateway.

I don't like the way you switch games (takes too long, 1 by 1), though if it were the only method of playing games (with no limit) then yes I would consider buying one.

Unfortunately for sky3ds, Gateway offers too much more compared to sky3ds for a cheaper price.

Not everyone needs region-free, I know I sure won't. If its able to load roms, so far to be proven to work on FW 9.3, it'll work.

It doesn't do anything but emulate carts, 1 at a time. I mean, it has multirom, but even that's as slow as switching out actual carts. It's just a piracy machine.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
