It does work but you need a copy of Cubic Ninja or Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D to boot Gateway Mode for the first time. And yeah, you just copy the new launcher.dat to the system SD (micro SD in the N3DS) like before.

Probably going to get Ninja'd but the only difference I can think of is you can't update emuNAND past 9.5, else Gateway Mode won't boot.

Whats the best tutorial to do this? Also a video tutorial would be even better!

Not sure if there's a video out there, never bothered to hunt for one.

Edit: BE DAMN WELL SURE YOU'RE IN EMUNAND BEFORE UPDATING. Don't want to update your sysnand after all. **Some people create folders in their sysnand to spell out Sys and Folders to spell out Emu for their emunand. Personally I use different themes.**

All you need to do is

1.Download 3dnus (https://gbatemp.net/threads/3dnus.376488/)
2.Download 9.5.0-23 (Title ID) EUR (Version) using 3DNUS *Check NEW 3ds*
3.Place update folder 9.5.0-23 onto internal micro sd
3a.Backup your Emunand if you like (https://gbatemp.net/threads/emunand-tool-release-and-support-thread.359239/)
3.Download & place Dev Menu / Big Blue Menu 3ds format onto gateway red
4.Boot into Emunand & start up Dev / BB Menu
5.Go to the right one to select SDMC tab
6.Open 9.5.0-23 folder
7.Press L + R + A to import all cia
8.Once everything is done, turn off the N3ds & Turn back on booting into your 9.5 emunand

Edit2: Changed Version to EUR. Use USA for N3ds(U) - Eur for Euros - JPN for Japs - ect.

Not 100% sure, but it looks like Stage 2 is specifically for Eur & Stage 3 for JPN.

Edit: Yeah, looks like the stages are just region patches released at different times.

They're saying they got ninja'd, because what they were planning to say got said by someone before they could say it. Like a ninja striking before they could.

I use the folder method of telling sysNand from emuNand, since I have an Old 3DS and the downgraded 4.2 System Version doesn't support themes. (I like the default color scheme best, so I have emuNand use that theme too, so I have to use the folders.)

My theme seems to stay the same on both nands

Sounds like your Sysnand and Emunand are linked. You can remove your internal SD & format your sysnand then insert your sd back in.

This will prevent installed cias from always showing up as new packages when you boot to emunand as well.

There are people who will install mset for you if you're willing to trust them with your valuable N3DS. That allows you to use the profile exploit and you won't need a rare game to boot it any more.

Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
