My 1000 is dead, time to upgrade.
Options:
Core Pack 3000 Model
Refurbished 2000 Model

I definitely need to be able to use CFW weather or not it's permanent or semi hackable.

A 2000 model is definitely the best option, but besides the firmware what do I have to look for to know if it's prema-CFWable or not? (motherboard type?)

I can still use the 1000 to make a Pandora's battery if needed, but the fewer steps the better.

Honestly the ONLY reason I want CFW is to be able to use FuSa for Fullscreen video out, if I can get it running on a new PSP 3000 then I have no qualms at all about getting one, so can someone confirm or deny that?

Any 3000 model you get will be unhackable.
Get the 2000 model for a chance of hacking. Softmodding is dependent on firmware version. Hardmodding dependent on motherboard revision

FuSa is a plugin from what i understand. This means it needs either temp CFW or full CFW. The PSP must be at least semi-hackable which no new 3000 is.

I assume this is because of pre-installed firmware?
I don't mind waiting for the new exploit if that's the case, it's just a matter of if the plugin actually works on 3000 models (it was developed for 2000 iirc).

Why not get another 1000? Easiest to hack, but if you want a slim PSP, try to get a used 2000. That's what I'd do.

Because I specifically want video out support for my TV

6.XX TN won't be supporting older plugins, because Fusa plugin is designed for 5.XX firmwares which means you'll have to wait for somoene to upgrade this FUSA plugin if you're willing to use it. So, I highly suggest that you try to get a hackable PSP 2000 or a semi hackable PSP 3000 which needs to be on 5.03 firmware or below.

Since you've already gone through the process with the 1000, I'm going to assume you know most of your stuff.

I'd rather get a hackable 2000. I was in your situation last year, I ended up picking up a used 2000 from a pawn shop for $70 with games and a charger. If I'm not mistaken, if you get one of the special edition models such as the Jak and Dexter one, it'll be much easier to ID the Mobo inside. There was a chart/table I looked at that listed out if they could be hacked.

2000 if you don't want to wait around for a hack with a 3000. These days a new 3000 usually comes with a firmware of 6.xx in fact I wish I could have gotten a 2000 for as reasonable a price as a 3000.

wait... aren't certain 3000s moddable to the point of running ISOs?

Yes... If you're lucky enough to get an 4.+ - 5.03 Official Firmware then you could play Iso using Homebrew enablers then Custom Firmware Enablers...

I Wouldn't recommend you to buy a psp with a firmware of 5.50 to 6.20 but its your choice... there's already a Homebrew Enabler released for the version 6.20 maybe a CFW enabler for the 6.20 will follow?.. who knows?

and i'd say that a 6.20 version psp 3000 would cost much less than a psp 3000 with a firmware 5.03 or below. xD
