not worth buying or not worth searching for a better firmware?

Not worth buying a 3.0.2 switch right now.

5.0.x firmwares are exploitable and most of the homebrew are compatible with it and/or will be fixed/updated to be compatible with newer firmwares. Also CFW is on its way.

How is it not worth it when they are paying retail?

Doesn't really matter what switch you buy now to be more blunt since you can just update to the latest 5.02 and still launch homebrew with a jig.
The concerned days of Switch firmware is over until new models are out. Anything below 5.02 will just get first dibs on software CFW without a jig that's basically the only difference to my knowledge

You got a point there, sir.

The FW shouldn't be decision factor though

Firmware is only useful to ensure you get a hackable version 1 unit. Even though nobody has seen the white whale v2 markio unit i can only hope when people in the future use the search feature they will see this
