The creatively bankrupt nature of Hollywood has been a subject of much derision for decades now. Normally it is about pointless remakes but pointless sequels is another one. Plenty of things have got sequels even decades later so time is no great factor, and CGI is enough to bring people back from the dead these days so no worries there either.

To that end you wake up tomorrow and a sequel to a favourite film is announced, however it is a film that could not and should not get a sequel. Go go same genre if you want but action film becomes character drama if you think it would be amusing enough.

What film is it?

For instance Space Cowboys. The marriage at the end of the film ends up struggling due to resentment over the death and an adrenaline high like that is unlikely to be equalled, the talk show circuit dries up and we see the breakdown and financial woes.

Terminator 2... actually we are probably in the worst timeline there.

:rofl2:

Those World War II documentaries that were presented as movies.

Also:
CGI is enough to bring people back from the dead these days so no worries there either.

I've thought a lot about this statement in the past weeks.
And I've come to the conclusion that goes like this:

Awards on best acting makes no sense. And CGI makes no sense UNTIL... someone who can act like a dead actor, and can mimmic it's gestures, voice, movements, etc. could play the role of said dead actor. For this you'll have to find someone who looks like dead's actor.
The, CGI dead actor's face on new actor and then give awards on best acting based on that.
Then, awards for best acting would actually make sense.
This sounds really stupid right now... and I apologize.

Coming to America 2.

Oh wait.
There's tons of well known comedy movies like this that would be ruined by a sequel even if you wish to see more from that universe. Like Office Space, Trading Places, Beetlejuice (this one has been announced every decade or so it was getting a sequel and there's no way it would compare to the atmosphere and nostalgia of the original).

Super Mario Bros. 2 - With The Rock and John Cena ft. Gaga as Peach.

Yeah... a sequel of the 90s one, where Mario casually takes out a Bob-omb out of his belt to wind up and blow up a bridge.

- Mario! Eat a mushroom to get stronger and defeat Bowser!
*takes out needle*
- Get Stronger?
*inyects suspicious liquid on neck*
- We don't need mushrooms B-)
*screams while flexing arms, veins pops out of neck*

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.

Free release can have loopholes where they still make money through ads
