ConraDargo, did u try Blackthorn? its so much like Flashback but in another age and more with demons/goblins. its a very good game IMHO.
u can use its GBA port easily.

----------
ok. so how exactly do I do this?  I have to put a amiga emu on my r4? and then get the rom? i am dumb. please give me directions for a dumb person.

Ok,
First get the the emulator from http://mihd.net/ce5dsm (uploaded it for u since its site is down
wink.gif
)

unpack the rar file, there are 2 things there:
1-REminiscenceDS.nds, just put it where you put ur NDS game are on ur R4
2-a directory called "data", copy this directory to ROOT of ur R4 (its ROOT is where you open your card from windows, if u donno yet, just right click and OPEN your R4's micro SD from windows, what you see is ROOT of your card), when you copied the folder on ur micro sd, go there and open it, there is another folder inside, open that too, there is another one, open that too, and there will be nothing else there, so now go to
http://www.abandonia.com/games/74/download/Flashback.htm, get that game, and unpack it, copy files inside tha DATA of this game u got from abandonia to your card, where we went into 3 levels of folders, copy them to the most depth folder. (copy the FILES there, not the directory).

(i think R4 does the DLDI automatically, if not, use DLDITOOL and R4's DLDI from chasm's site, if u have problem here, ask, since i think u dont need to do it)

if you want the music too, use the link Lagman/Hadrina provided before and put them in the directory with rest of data files.

SO lets check what you should have in ur micro SD card at last:
there should be a file called REminiscenceDS.nds which is next to your game files in ur micro sd and there should be a folder in your root of ur micro sd called data which has another folder called flashback and another folder inside it called Data and inside of it are files that you got from Abandonia.com's flashback (there should be NO FOLDERS there, just plain files).

hope that helps.
I fully appreciate the help. I have a mac however and not being entirely computer savvy puts me at somewhat of a loss. regardless thanks for the help.

Better late than never they say, so thank you everyone for commenting on my work

I didn't think it'd get that much attention so that's why I haven't been here up until now (and I have a really short memory, heh...).

@test84, Yeah I've played both Flashback Legends (R.I.P) and Blackthorn. Both of them are really good, BT especially
smile.gif
I was quite shocked when I first found out about that game - with Blizzard having developed it. Heh.

@coolbho3000, Dang you're right, never noticed that! Thanks for pointing it out - might switch to another cart then just to make it look more authentic.

And I strongly recommend everyone to use REminiscence for reliving this game. It's a great program which I know works on a lot of portable devices - I've had it running on my old HTC TyTN, Tapwave Zodiac and GP2X as well.

Nice cover, like it. Flashback was great on the Amiga, agreed. Probably the best along with Prince of Persia, check out the Snes version too, more levels. There was a Windows 95 CD version of Flashback for the PC, with FMV. I actually own a factory sealed Snes version of Flashback, loved it over another world. Delphine Software produced some good games for the Amiga. I also remember Blackthorne by Blizzard too, pretty good... 1995? If I had to pick two it would be,

Flashback &
Prince of Persia Original(Broderbund).

It is and isn't. The commercial game in the first post is just a mock-up, but there are at least two ways to play the actual game on your DS (a remake that was ported to the DS, or an Amiga emulator.) Both had links provided for them in this thread.

Can anyone tell me what the latest version of REminiscenceDS is? and where to get it?

The official site seems to be 0.1.9 but I have seen some sites refer to 0.23

Yeah the game was released on pretty much every system that was out at that time including Jaguar, SEGA CD and Mac - all with added FWM-scenes

And I have them all - five of which are still sealed

I cant stop lookin at your stash of gold, it made it into my background.
Thats alot learning for me to "how to be a fan", maybe a true form.
You have the game for systems that you dont even own, I donno how others cant realize it.

I'll start playing Flash Back again.

Love it.

Wow my collection made that much of an impact on you?? Awesome
happy.gif
And yeah I can't even play more than two of the games, heh. But I wouldn't wanna do it anyway since it might wear the games out you know ;D

Ooo btw I forgot this - it's the PC-version which I couldn't fit into the photo because... well, the frame is kinda big
tongue.gif

The reason why I decided to have it framed in is because the guy who sold the game to me used to be a game reviewer back in the 90s and in order to save on storage - he flatted all of the game boxes. So despite the smashed box - this game is practically new as he only played it a few times, then wrote his review and stowed everything away in his house

I got it running on the DS. But it seems to play too fast, is that what you guys are getting? Like when you run it just goes so quick.

As it was unexplain and not so old , let the people know, Right trigger toggle the fast mode, the Left trigger brings up the savestate menu.

Five still sealed... Lucky bastard! :-)

Which version do you like the best? I've played the PC, Amiga, Snes & Sega CD versions..

Agreed, one of the best.. Wished they did a sequel, maybe on the DS. Keep the look and feel the same..

Well I've actually only played two versions: Amiga (at the store where I first discovered the game) and Mega Drive (
wub.gif
). I've been thinking a lot about trying one of the "expanded" versions though, especially SEGA CD which I could easily emulate on my PC. But I never seem to get around to it.

So, what's your fav then?
