See that's the main problem I have, I'm on a mac and as far as I know, programming the PICs is out of the question. Plus, I'm lazy and stupid and would rather solder a couple wires than have to deal with programming a PIC. What I want to try and do is solder the stuff so I can easily take it out of the wlip so in the future, if I wanted to use a PIC, it wouldn't be an issue...

Oh and my ds-x is on it's way out and will be getting cyclowiz or maybe just an R4 since their cheap.

Check this thread for a previous post I made about one such solution. However, there is only place inside that this will fit and you can close the case. In the Wlip picture it shows where they put it, and it is right in that area that there is a small deeper section that if you put the two connected adapters on its side, you will be able to close the case.

I prefer the Acekard btw. DSTT I wasn't impressed by.

In theory, if you put in a Wlip, and don't attach anything to the adapter, will the Wii still operate with originals?

Orginals still work with a modchip.
Its only the WiiKey at the moment that doesn't work with brawl.

In the Theory, there is no modchip in that scenario, just the Wlip attached. So would the Wii still work, does adding just the Wlip make it stop working.

I'm no expert on programmers but if it's failed to program every chip you throw at it I would think the problem is either your computer or your programmer. I dont have a programmer yet since I haven't ordered my wlip yet but I might order my programmer this weekend just to make sure i can program the chip. If it works for me, i'll send you a programmed chip if u need one.
Hey, that sounds great. I've put in a request for PICs with a few people, but haven't heard back from anyone. I'd be willing to send you all the extra PICs I have if you could program YAOSM for me. Also, in the future I'd need a PIC with the updated YAOSM that has DVD upgrade ability. After that, I should be set.

Let me know once you've got your programmer if we can work something out!

Well, it's friday so i'm gonna search around and order my programmer today. I dont need any extra pic since i got bout 5 from Microchip Direct. If I order today I should get my programmer sometime next week. I'll fill you in with more details after I order it.

Nintendo just sent my Wii back from repairs and I got a D2B! I sent them a D2C! I'm SOO HAPPY, cause now I can mod my Wii again without having super complex installs! But I got cut legs and I saw that the Wlip works with cut leg Wiis.

Is there a place to buy them in Canada?

ALSO: I have a OpenWii chip, a socket for it and also a programmer. Also I have a Wiikey here, but I don't know if I should use it instead of the OpenWii.

Is the pins cut or not?
But you REALLY got lucky there.

Just order my Programmer. Should be coming in 2-5 business days. Now the wait for the wlip to come back in stock...
This may be a while...

Sent my D2C Wii to Nintendo for repair to Nintendo too, and I should reveive it back today... I really hope they done the same thing to me! I know there isn't much chance, but hey, we sent it arround the same time, and we both sent it to the Canada repair center... one can hope!

If you go to https://my.nintendo.com/cpp/repairs/getRepairs.do and enter your RO and postal code you should be able to see the serial number of the new Wii. Now enter that into http://wiitracker.nintendo-scene.com/search.php and see what they tell you.

Holy crap! I opened up my Wii and it did turn out to be D2B, but I DON'T have cut legs! I'm happier than before. So, now that I know for certain I have a D2B without cut legs, I can get the Wlip model 1, right? So should I use my OpenWii (ATMEGA8L) or Wiikey with it?

Congratz! As to which chip to use it's your choice. I have no experience with either and I don't plan to since I'm modding my wii with Yaosm.

I use the Wiikey with no problems but it is your choice.
Have a look at what features you want and the type of installation you want to do.
The way I see it is most all the chips have the same features and regular updates.
I just went with what most of my friends were using so if I need a hand they may be able to help me out.
Now that the Wlip is out, installations are so much more easy IMO.
I wish you the best of luck in your choice and let us know what you picked and how it went.

That's good news! What serial number was on your Wii?
