My Friend's 3Ds with hacks is on 9.2.0-20U, my 3Ds that I'm playing smash on is on 10.2.0-28U.

I own the cart, yes. Doesn't SaveDataFiler use a different save format that isn't compatible with your editor?

well, I'd be willing to try it, I just have no idea how to use it. Do you know where I can find some decent instructions?

Install a CFW with sig checks disabled, find the saveDataFiler cia, install it, run it, highlight 00EDF for smash, press Y, then A. The save will be on the root of the sd card in filler.

...and if I don't know what half of that means? CFW = Custom Firmware? Sorry, but I wasn't kidding when I said I was a noob.

I have both of the 3Ds-s with me right now. I can say with 100% confidence that my friend doesn't know anything about hacking. All I've done with his 3Ds is get into homebrew via browserhax, that's it.

I uh, figured out my issue. The save manager isn't importing my edited save correctly. Basically, it exits out automatically after a few seconds when I press B, and there's some kind of message on the screen for a split second that I can't read. Apparently it's supposed to stay in the app after the import? I posted about it in its thread, but I haven't gotten a reply yet, so I figured I'd try here too.

I have a feeling this is because my game is on 1.1.2, but I have no idea right now.
Any chance you can record the save manager and go frame by frame to see what the message is?

What kind of unknown values? I mean, where, more or less, because asking what's known about unknown values is just redundant.

Or it's super deep n' stuff. Time to get PHILOSOPHICAL!

I'll do that now. One sec.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Restoring save data...
/saveDataBackup/ , DS_Store 100% em_data.bin 100%%

Total: 60terminate called after throwing an instance of 'fsException'
terminate called recursively

Where did SD_Store come from?

Anything that is in the save files that are not in the doc.

I'll just send you the 'screen grab'.

For a second I assumed you meant stuff within the actual game files - things that would be found in the rom file system, for instance - but that was just a bad guess on my part.

I wonder how long it'd take for me to just.. scan through everything in dt until I find stuff relating to equipment.

edit: nvm, my extracted romfs is 1.0.1, before cheat flag implementation iirc

I've been wondering..

when dt repacking is eventually figured out, what could be done to essentially have the game 'give' me 3000 normally-generated pieces of equipment for testing purposes?? that'd probably require messing with the data for modes and, in particular, changing classic's "custom x[0-5]" to actually give 3000 pieces of 'stuff' in one go, but I'm not sure how someone would go about doing that.

http://prntscr.com/907jul the only hings in dt that pertain to equipment
