in the past month i've been working on a kind of demake/recreation of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game for the DS.
I started this as a way to learn some C/C++ and homebrew development in general.

NOTE that this is still in very early development, and therefore is pretty much just a demo/concept, but, eh, wanted to share it here.

right now there's just one character, one level (which is more of an empty sandbox), and the game title and character selection screens.
maybe I will continue this when I have time for it, since I want to invest my time in learning and trying other things for now.

I'll attach the ROM if anyone wants to try it out.

Dude this would be really cool if you finished the game do you think you would add the negative scoot character too?

thanks! there are many things that I want to work on besides adding new content, like refactoring many things of the code (since it's kinda bad) and maybe try to extract the assets from the original game files, so that anyone can compile this without me adding copyrighted material to the github repo (which is something I don't want and don't even know if can get me in trouble (?)), but this last thing is something I really don't know how to do at all, so any insight would be appreciated.

if you mean the level including that fight, recreating the whole game until that point would require an insane amount of effort and time lol, but if you mean the character itself, maybe when I add the other main playable characters I could consider it (?)

Hey, I was wondering if this was still being worked on? Of course, it's only been a month, but I love this game, and I love cool demakes, and I got really really ecstatic seeing this demake of one of my favorite games for my favorite console (family) and being able to play it, so I'm VERY eager to see what else comes of this, if there is more coming from this.

I've spent this last month taking a break from this and also trying to learn and do some other things.
might come back to it when I feel ready:D which might be soon.
you can try out the ROM I attached if you want to have a feel of what this game would feel/look like on a DS. it should work on most flashcarts and it works on both DeSmuME and melonDS.
anyways, thanks for asking!
