I'm going to have to do this via the 3ds rom method as Decrypt9WIP wont load up. Should be easier with RXTools

Once I've got all the steps worked out I'll post an easy guide.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Decrypting the 3DS Rom. 10% compete.
I will use the decrypted rom to patch the romfs.
Rebuild the 3DS Rom and then use simple cia converter to make a RF cia file.

I am honestly clueless with this stuff, so I have a few questions to ask:

I downloaded the .3ds MHX rom but it won't open. I got gateway back in february and haven't updated it since. To update, I open gateway and then go to the settings and system update correct? This will update the emunand and not the sysnand?

With the .3ds rom, can I get this english patch? Or should I download the .cia version of it?

In regards to the above poster, what is decrypting the rom and what does it do? I've read a few posts and it seems important but I don't really follow...

Lastly, I am assuming that the english translation works as like a patch to the game. So I assume that if the english patch gets updated, I just need to change the translation .cia file and it will run fine with the updated translation?

Also, is it possible to like put the translation into the rom? As in, you just download the rom file and it comes with the translation?

Sorry for noob questions, I am really clueless with this.

Would you please upload the patched .3ds as well as the .cia once you finish?

Nice work on the translation patch, surprised to see one ready to go so quickly.
Hopefully someone can make a HANS update, as it is my only way to use this.

Also, can someone please tell me if MHX loads in Homebrew's region free app so I can atleast play it in Japanese? If it doesn't work in HANS or region free I have wasted $100 importing a copy.

I'm right in saying I have to use "DecryptedRomFS.bin" to patch. Right? Have to rename it first to RomFS. Correct?

Are you on a New or Old3DS?

Yeah, to update your emuNAND, boot to emuNAND and update in settings, EXCEPT if you are using a New 3DS since nothing supports 9.5+ emuNAND. You'll have to update your launcher.dat to support the latest emuNAND though. And this has nothing to do with the current topic.

Someone reported on page 10 that it worked.

Decrypting the rom is useful to make a patched rom.

Lastly, I am assuming that the english translation works as like a patch to the game. So I assume that if the english patch gets updated, I just need to change the translation .cia file and it will run fine with the updated translation?
That's not really how it works. If you use a .3ds (or .3dz) with NTR on a New 3DS, you only have to update like 20MB on your SD card. If you use a patched rom, you'll have to update the rom (like reinstalling the whole 1.5GB cia if you use a cia version of the game).

Also, is it possible to like put the translation into the rom? As in, you just download the rom file and it comes with the translation?
Yes. Most people are either doing it now or waiting for others to do it.

3ds rom version would be nice since Traiver is already doing the cia verion

For some reason, using a .3dz rom with ntr on n3ds isnt working for me. The screen will flash green but then freeze a second later.

Working fine here so far with NTR patcher (GW emunand at 9.5 with a headered 3DZ).

The 'at maximum.' text appears to appear before the item name that's maxed and 'Water Resistance' is so too long a string for Talismans and overlaps the number making the point total impossible to read.
