I feel like cURL or wget/fetch would be better since this doesn't do anything other than download files over HTTP. God, I really need to learn how to program homebrew. I want to implement so many UNIX tools on the 3DS. :/

You can. Converting a 3dsx isn't hard.

Well there is some ....."questionable" stuff listed as educational, but the thingI assume he was referring to was the method to escape the youtube site and use the youtube app to browse different video streaming sites

This thread has been dead for over a year now. No need to bump it.

Download the files and run them in the homebrew launcher.
