how do you get the signal to your pc....?
You probably need a bluetooth adapter

or candle trick...

In that video, how does this home made thing send the single to the Wii itself?
I'll assume you meant "signal".

The sensor bar doesn't really "sense" anything, it just has infrared LEDs on each end. The Wiimote follows the position of the LEDs, and calculates its own position in relation to them. For example, if they appear in the top left corner of the Wiimote's field of view, then the Wiimote is (probably) pointing to the lower right corner of the TV screen. Information from the motion sensors is also factored into the calculation. The end result is sent to the Wii via Bluetooth.

The "sensor" bar doesn't send any information to the Wii. The cable is only a power cable for the LEDs. If you can power the LEDs from another source (batteries, for example), the sensor bar doesn't even have to be plugged into the Wii. The whole thing can be replaced with two lit candles

Hmm, this poses some interesting possibilities for being able to play FPS games as though you were playing it on a Wii.

You see, the pointing mechanism for the Wiimote is absolute. That means you can translate the screen coordinates that the wiimote is sending into axis' on an analogue stick, effectively making your character turn when your wiimote nears the edge of the screen. Throw in some equations to give the center area a bit of a 'dead zone', and turn up the turning sensitivity in game, and save for the gun being independant from the screen, you have the exact same thing you would get on a Wii.

Sounds awesome.

right... keyboard+wiimote sounds like a great way to play quake 3 and such!

NOT
Keyboard? The thing has buttons, a d-pad, and you can connect the Nunchuck with more buttons and an analog stick. Should be enough for most stuff...
Damn, this is so awesome!

Here is a video of it working on Windows:

Here is a video of it working on Linux, with a meter showing it's values:

Either your site is having problems, or my work have JUST added you to their filter list but I don't think that is the case.

My site is hosted by mediatemple.net and they're having problems with their new grid servers, it's up at the moment, but there may be intermittent outages, check out the videos, so cool.
