Windows Defender off?

My laptop overheated again, so I cleaned out the fans with compressed air and booted back up. it gave me the action center warning about Windows Defender being turned off. I press the turn on now button, and it opens the System32 folder..

I have avast free and MBAM pro currently, did one of those turn it off?

From what I know installing any virus scanner will disable Windows Defender and use that virus scanner instead, so maybe it isn't detecting avast properly?

For all I know, Windows Defender has the smallest footprint of all AV software. Enabling or disabling it should have next to no effect.

If you already have a good antivirus installed on your laptop you can turn off Windows Defender, no need to keep them both turned on
