I have a downloaded Win7 Ultimate that is preactivated and passes the genuine test (It works with microsoft essential?)
But I can't upgrade my actual home premium because it thinks it's different

There activation technologies, just remove them using RemoveWAT..
That should skip the check, and you get you some updates.

(ok, really, i didn't but it's legit, my boss gave the activation key from the company to use on my PC, since i also use my own pc for work
