Windows 11. Yay or Nay?

I want to get on Windows 11, but I don't see any reason to. I already run android apps through MSI App Player (which uses BlueStacks).. I'll probably update just because I can and to get rid of the notification. I like to tinker with new things.

Still using 8.1 64bit (I know, I know) and have no intention of shifting unless I have no choice i.e OS stops working or hardware dies.

Only if it support android app natively like they advertize. I have not seen anything yet. I will be shoddy at best it seems.
Else than that I cant see the difference with windows vista, 7,8 or 10 they are ALL THE SAME
They haven't advertised android support yet, it's coming soon.

They aren't all the same. I'm not sure how you can't see the difference.
My PC is compatible but I don't see the point in updating until there's a clear advantage with gaming. Also, I tend to dislike a lot of the changes MS makes so I'll wait until all the registry tweaks are known to get rid of all the pointless crap.

I don't care about changes, it's good for the soul. However I'm probably going to wait a couple of weeks (I have been running insider on a 14 year old laptop for a few months to play around with it).

I wonder if it's the Vista/Windows 8 team. Or if it's the 7 and 10 team on Windows 11. It will make a big difference.
It's the same people who worked on all of them (give or take new hires and people who left/retired)

I'm perfectly fine here in Linux land where Micro$oft isn't screwing us with blatant DRM system requirements.

Btw, I need a new tin foil hat. This is quite worn.

My CPU isn't compatible, and I don't have a TPM, but I updated to 22000 three weeks ago.

Should I wait for windows update to tell me when to update or should I update with the update helper tool

This looks the same movement like the one with Windows Vista, the "you need a better computer" thing.

That sucks, considering that my Windows 10 installation is working great.

And then they turn back and allow old computers to "support" Windows 11... so then, it needs a better computer or not? It's all about commercial strategy (i.e. selling computers), nothing more.

For those of you who are still finding this error 'failed to run tsec keygen firmware'

this seems to only occur if your booting from hekate and/or sxos chainloading.
if you use tegrarcm and load the fusee bin from latest release it will work without getting that error.
SciresM made a comment that said that sx gear shouldnt be used. I was using sx os to load hekate and then atoms and with the latest update it causes this error. hopefully this will get fixed so I wont how to use a computer to inject a payload. Does anyone else have methods of injecting a payload similarly to using the sx dongle?

You don't have to activate secure boot to install Windows 11. You just need a PC that supports secure boot, even if its not enabled.
my pc has tpm 2.0 and is secureboot compatible but its disabled and the windows check tool (forgot the name) says i need to enable secureboot thats why i cant install it.

It's been nearly a decade since Windows 8 launched and somehow MS still hasn't figured out that desktop users don't want touch-based or mobile-like interfaces. The UI updates break too much without doing anything useful, and they haven't displayed much in the way of actual new features or kernel overhauls to make it look like there's anything actually going on behind the scenes.

I've still got the insider version installed, but I haven't booted into it in weeks and have no plans to do so in the near future. My tablet will be staying on Windows 10 as well, even after they inevitably backtrack on the CPU requirements.

And they never will if they can't get rid of these Gates and Ballmer wannabes holed up in the Windows department. https://www.techradar.com/news/wind...-get-rid-of-made-men-according-to-ex-employee

Based on the previews, Windows 11 seems very promising.
The new theme is great, everything works just as always, and best of all, it runs Lego Island better than any Windows 10 computer I've used.
Plus, When I was on the preview build, I managed to corrupt several removable drives and most of my newer computers just by plugging in a USB Flash Drive as well!

Point being, it can run Lego Island so I'm upgrading
