Ifixit is wrong about their WiiU info(unless they fixed it recently).
The WiiU has both an EMMC chip (either 8gb or 32gb some of which holds some of the WiiU system software essentials) and a 1GB NAND chip which is split(evenly?) by banks between WiiU and vWii.

Forgive me for being suspicious, but where did you read that? I'm not saying I don't believe you, I only want to know more about Wii U.

that is very true but for now avoid 5.1.1 :) ps ur awesome Goku Junior :D

Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do to get around it, as Google Fiber's network box (their routers) currently have no way to blacklist the server addresses. Is there any other way I can get around it? Damn, this is BS.

Do you not have access to a cheap older router collecting dust somewhere that you can put back into service between the WiiU and their network box?

Nope, sure don't, well, my roommate has a personal router, but its signal is so weak it's not worth it, and it's too far from the Wii U, it's in his room and nowhere near the TV or Wii U. Failing that, couldn't I go from vWii U (boot into vWii) then to Wii U then disable WiFi?

Um, it's a weird situation. My desktop is not connected to the network box at all. My laptop is, desktop uses an Ethernet/CAT-6 cable that goes to a nearby jack, so that wouldn't work from my location. Take my laptop to my living room and it might. What would this do to the Wii U?

Ultimately, what do you need your Wii U to be online for? If you only need to connect to a network to run the exploit, just connect to your laptop which hosts your webserver. Unplug it from ethernet and bam, no problems with running into update servers (because your wifi on your laptop will be hosting the network for the console and can't connect to anything else simultaneously)

What about normal use, like, I'm afraid to turn the blood thing on, so far, booting to vWii then to Wii U seems like a viable workaround, then disable WiFi in the mean time. A request for Google Fiber was put in into adding IP blacklisting.

you say you don't have a firewall right? Is their any ''parental controls'' in your router settings, because thats what i had to use for blocking the ip's and my wiiU can't download the update :D

I thought I saw a firewall setting I'm pretty sure, looking at it, I see three security modes, minimum, typical (recommend) and maximum. Right now it's at the "recommended" setting. Then it brings me to a page with previous connections made, but what the Wii U is, I have no idea, looks like IPv6.

if you have a firewall setting click it and the parental control settings might be in that category such as this

I only installed HBC and a VC wad to test, I didn't install any IOS, I'm not interested in that, so I think it's all ok for me :D I just can't wait when the Official Nintendo GC adapter comes out.

I think the update affected vWii homebrew, I can get Wiiflow to work but when I boot a VC game via Wiiflow, it was all black screen, it always used to work before... And not anymore now...

I'm on 5.1.0, not 5.1.1.
I was on 4.1.0 before.

Update 5.1.1 don't mess with vWii, but 5.1.0 does, but it only touch vIOS 62 and add a new channel nothing more.
