Will this new update affect vwii homebrew and USBloader? The new system update came out today.
Nope, all it patches is stuff in the Cafe OS portion, vWii is untouched.
I'll check it, but trust NWPlayer123, he know what it talks
EDIT: Nope, it is the same.
Ok thanks allot guys do i ever have to worry about updating and it bricking my wii u because my vwii is hacked or when the vwii bricks is it only the vwii that bricks and the wii u mode still works?
if you ever brick your Vwii the WiiU mode will still work
Yes, vWii it's in another NAND chip so it should keep working, but it's very strange to a Nintendo update brick the vWii, unless it touches a vIOS, but they need what are they doing, the 5.1.0U update had touched the IOS62, and added a new channel.
Ok cool there goes that worry I am just hope they do not start finding people with hacked vwii and ban their nintendo ids can they do that?
no they can't noticed a hacked WiiU - Vwii because the Vwii is ''sandbox'' and is not used/recognized by WiiU mode(Cafe OS)
Nah, they didn't ban in the Wii, the vWii is just identical... anyway, they don't pay attention in vWii hacking, if they do, with the 5.1.0 update they should deleted the homebrew channel and replace the custom vIOS... we don't know in Cafe OS yet...
ok thanks use guys are freaking awesome thanks for the help I thought the vwii would be different from the good old wii with its security and all now i got no worries just treat it like a normal wii with most things besides cios and priiloader.
Do note that the browser exploit was patched in the new firmware though so you won't be able to run WiiU homebrew which is already in the works.
It is actually ON the same NAND but in a different bank of the same chip.
according to f0f:
All of the updating and downloading for vWii actually happens in WiiU mode.
So the WiiU is vWii aware but mostly likely not the other way around.
This is also the reason a messed up vWii doesn't allow the WiiU to update properly.
What? in the TearDown of the Wii U it SHOWNS the 2 separated NANDs, one of 512MB (vWii) and other with 8GB (Wii U)!

what! they already got home brew on the wii u i knew about the exploit did not know that it gives you home brew on the wii u mode thanks for the info
ok note to self do not mess up vwii or wii u will not update how its meant to. thank you
we have an exploit but no actual home-brew just yet but its just on the horizon the exploit works on 4.0-5.1.0 ...patched on 5.1.1 so keep away from 5.1.1 if possible
But, NWPlayer say Webkit it's full of bugs, so we need to wait to they do a new one, I'm only saying it's stills possible of got a new exploit.
that is very true but for now avoid 5.1.1 ps ur awesome Goku Junior
yes goku junior is awesome well i just updated to 5.1.1 before use said not to but i have never touched the wii u internet exploit so yeah I am going to wait till wii u mode hacking is stable before i touch that lol use guys are all awesome such quick replies :3
ur awesome to scott0bloke
Ifixit is wrong about their WiiU info(unless they fixed it recently).
The WiiU has both an EMMC chip (either 8gb or 32gb some of which holds some of the WiiU system software essentials) and a 1GB NAND chip which is split(evenly?) by banks between WiiU and vWii.
