wouldn't matter if it did or didn't use Nintendo's servers. the only thing you wouldn't be able to get is the ticket as you can still download from the servers after Nintendo closes the shop. we know the algorithm by which Nintendo creates tickets for both 3ds and wiiu, so we can make our own without a problem.
