To be specific, an Acekard 2, not a 2i.

I tried my Acekard on my brother's DSi XL and it wouldn't load up, but that's because I'm assuming that I'm not using the 2i model. But would the regular Acekard 2 work on a 3DS or would I be better off waiting for a new Acekard or just buy a 2i now?

No. Because every new handheld system from Nintendo has a Anti-piracy to block out all flashcards, even though they pursue it eventually. And with all the rumors about the 3DS' AP to be so sophisticated, i know for sure it won't work.

the ds flashcards WONT work but dsi 1.4.1 flashcard maby... cuz if nintendo could stop the newest flashcards from working on the 3ds they would release a dsi update aswell ... but i kinda think even those 1.4.1 fc wont work... mmm well we'll see it in 1 month (japan 3ds r4 test)
