Wiiware / WADs Black screen?

I seem to be having a very hit and miss experience when it comes to wii wad files

Is it common for some to work and some to just black screen? If find the only way to unlock the console is by holding the power button.

Ok, I was up until 2am trying to figure this out. Its not all Wiiware, it's specifically Virtual Console games, i can't get them to work. least NES ones. I've not tried anything else yet

Do you have CIOS installed? And if so, maybe a SysCheck report so I can diagnose it?

yes I have CIOS installed, the Wii was soft nodded about 11 years ago. I did run syscheck, I'll post it up in a little while. Any help would be appreciated.

Last time I checked this with a Wii2HDMI adapter, it seems to run just fine for me. Black screen could mean anything, either you're running it through a USB loader with the wrong game IOS/CIOS or that it's misconfigured somehow.

It's all about your TV, not the Wii itself. A fair chunk of HDTVs only accept 240/288p over certain sources, and HDMI is rarely one of them. Mine only accepts it over composite and SCART for example.

Forcing video mode may get it working, or in some cases language
