second i remember there was like a compatability list so is that still a thing or can we now play all games and is it possible to run games from a external hdd or sd card only
third is it possible to play wii and gamecube on the wiiu and can you use the gamepad to stream those games
and last question in what firmware is the skylander edition?

Be aware that Wii U only has 8GB internal storage, which the operating system will use a lot of it.

On the other hand, this bundle is pratically guaranteed to be low firmware. So it's much safer to buy than the current bundles available, if his goal is to hack it. I wouldn't worry too much about 8GB of internal memory. He's gonna use an SD card to store the games, anyway. Loadiine doesn't even use internal memory for gamesaves.

i have a white one with 8gb too and works perfect with 1tb external hard drive and without one Skylanders Trap team bundle came with 4.1. The Swap force bundle is a little bit older i think this has 4.0.

This bundle works perfect with loadiine without any problems

1. Buy the damn thing. Also get Splatoon or another game with 5.3.2 firmware. READ a guide several times if you have to, just don't update the console online for 5.5.x, there's nothing to be done afterwards.

Hey I just wanted to let you know Gamestop has that console for $230. I tired to get Amazon to price match so I could buy it there, but they said no. So I bought it from GS. You can also save more if you can find a deal on some GS gift cards.

I've got a Wii U on 5.3.2 but since I can't play online with Loadiine I'm thinking about buying Mario Maker.
I guess I need to spoof in order to play it online.
So ...

1. Is there any disadvantage in spoofing to 5.5.1? It just changes one file and won't affect any upcoming IOSU exploit stuff, right?
2. Are games with newer firmwares than 5.3.2 even playable while still being on 5.3.2 and only spoofing 5.5.1? Especially Mario Maker?

1. I'm spoofed from 5.4 to 5.5.1 and I play my disc games online all the time. There are those that believe that if you go online with spoofed firmware that you may be banned later. Nobody really knows at this point so you assume that risk.

2. I don't think the games actually need higher firmware to run. They are just programmed to look for the higher firmware and a spoof does the trick. I have a 5.4u and am able to play all current games right now with spoofed firmware.

3. You are dead on. Tubehax will block you from doing a regular update. But you can use the eShop hack to go online temporarily and download any DLC you paid for. Also wup installer works great to update your game.

This eShop hack I quoted right now ... never heard of it. Wouldn't it be possible to use it for game updates as well rather than fooling aroudn with the wup installer? Gotta look for it now.

Anyway: I'm gonna buy Mario Maker and MK8 and have a nice online time.

Well there's obviously a way that Nintendo can tell since a 5.3.2 system spoofed to 5.5.1 can still be updated if you don't use tubehax and connect online. So Nintendo has a way to tell. Whether or not they will ever use that info if beyond us.

Mmh, guess you're right. On the other hand NX is around the corner and we know what'll happen to Wii U servers then anyway. So I'm counting on Wiimm to host own server related stuff in the future and getting banned won't be a topic any longer.

It's called NNU Patcher and it gives you access to eshop even with Tubehax enabled. It's temporary cause it goes away on reboot

Online playing is possible with disc games only. So you've got to buy what you wanna play online.

When you spoof and put Tubehax in (which is a MUST to avoid firmware updates) then you can play online very well. If something isn't working, just run the Kernel Exploit once (till it works) and then NNU Patcher. Then you can access the Eshop and stuff until you restart your console.
However: You don't need NNU Patcher to play online. Just spoof and make sure Mario Maker has the latest update (for the game, not the Wii U firmware) to play online. To update Mario Maker use WUP Installer (search the forum for instructions).
