Yes...you may use electric tape to install your WiiKey. Simply place your WiiKey on the circuit board, align the quick solder points with the points marked in the WiiKey installation diagram, and then place a piece of electric tape over the WiiKey. The quick solderpoints will then join together and hence you will have a quick working WiiKey. Just make sure you put one piece horizontally and one piece vertically, this will ensure that the chip does not move.

I did a wire install myself but when I figured out about the electric tape method, I regretted it as I could have saved myself an hour of installation. I say go for the electric tape method...its definately a way to go. Easier, faster, and lower chance of getting dry joints. Why fumble with 6 wires when you can use 1 piece of electric tape?

I hope that helps.

Age of 10 pretty good start for modding and learning about modchip already... I wouldn't recommend any electrical tape - you could try Electric Glue Gun (like my mate did)

Did your mates work lookout?

Jamal780 - You're better off getting it installed by someone who can solder. If you don't have access to an actual modshop, try going to an electronic repair shop. Someone that fixes tv's, radio's, stereos, those kinds of things. Ask them if they'll solder something in for you.

Hahah..I never though about using electrical tape only. Theoretically, as long as you complete the connection and find a way to keep it secure, then it should work.

I still prefer soldering it though since its stabler and a better connection.

Not when he's a damn idiot. If he had said scotch tape, would he have deserved respect. How about if he wanted to use elmers glue. Or play-doh.
you think im dumb i have modded my psp and played 4 emulators on it and 9 games all on a 512. and i have a working pcsx2 and the up chip installed

Now I really think you should use electric tape.
