currently (WiiFree 2.25) there's none. both chips have the same features and both have issues with GC audiofix

so why not get the wiifree if there 4 times cheaper why everyone talk about the u can get wiifree 2.0

the reason i want to know is because i am about to order my chip and if the wiifree does the same i will go with that as its cheaper but it seems that everyone wants the wiikey cant understand

If you have a programmer and easy access to some PICs, Wiifree is an excellent choice, it's not final code yet (probably will happen soon, those guys are on fire) but it work really great anyway. Still haven't seen one of those much talked DREs and everything i throw at it plays great.

i have the weefree and it works just great...........i tink the biggest difference is that the wiikey plays gamecube back ups, wiifree just originals

The Wiifree does not come pre-programmed. It is just an opensource firmware that you have to program yourself to a PIC 12F629 or 12F675 chip. You can build a cheap programmer for it that will cost much less than $20. I ordered free samples of the chips and got 3 of them for free! The only difference now between Wiikey and Wiifree is that the Wiikey is upgraded via the Wii DVD slot and the Wiifree has to be manually re-programmed with a programmer. This means that most likely you would want to externally mount the wiifree but the Wiikey can be internal. Eventually they will probably figure out how to do this for the Wiifree as well just not yet.

Wiifree definitely does support GC backups though.

No I mean programmer but you need both the programmer and the software.

Some people will program the Wiifree for you and sell it at a nominal cost at say $5-$10. I know eurasia.nu sells the wiifree already programmed.

Well you know soldering that chip isn't exactly easy either so be sure your confident enough in doing this.
