Hacking Wiikey 1.9g update error

Yeah I had the same problem with the 1.9b update and I had to brun the disk three times for it to work. Chop it again, and burn at 2x if you can.

I need to do the filechop thing?

the only way is change the chip

I used imgburn.. verbatim burning at 1x.. and the same error ocurried.. i have a clone wiikey.. somebody knows?

yea well, made a thread about this yesterday allready, I have the exact same problem. I just ordered a new wiikey, hope that'll help.

you can send me your wiikey and i will reprogram it with the 1.9g code. it's just that your clone has the wrong fuse settings so the update wont start. you can fix it with the chiip programmer and the avrdude program.

Burned 8 dvds some padded some not... all at 2-1x and it wont work

Now I actually did the update till 100% not the test this time, but in the end it had no homer voice and said it had an error? should I try the smg update or not?

I think I've the worst problem. Below were the steps I've taken which cost me several dvds.

(a) 1.9g (failed to flash)
(b) 1.9b (failed to flash)
© Update 1.3 (asked me to shut down)
(d) Update 1.2 (asked me to shut down)
(e) Update 1.1 (asked me to shut down)
(f) Try using GCOS 1.3 (able to load the menu but no gamecube controller)
(g) Try looking for gamecube controller (Not sold in my area)
(h) Use the HEX technique (http://psx-scene.com/forums/wiikey/58444-wiikey-clone-install-after-3-0-firmware-how-fix.html) FAILED

I've burnt every dvd using verbatim dvd-r. Some using filechop. Some no need. I've the original wiikey. I have ntsc-j fw3.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ok got it working. Wiikey update from their site, burn with imgburn default settings at 4x. dont filechop or gcos it

Hi, i had the same problem but with 1.9s. I found that when the firmware is about to check adn asks to press A or reset if you get off the CD off you wont have that problem and the firmware will update.
I cats say for shure if it updates or not but its a beguining.
After that i wasn't able to load the config disk 1.9x and mario kart still dont work for me
