Hacking WiiFlow Lite

Helpp, today i did a nand backup with dump mii nand on mi vwii, then i wanted to play games on wiiflow but its just stuck at Wiiflow logo charging and brings me to the wiiflow menu, pls help i jusy wanna play some mkwii and cod waw :(

go to main settings>nand emulation settings and saves nand emulation to OFF.

I had to restore my nand for it to reset (all the save data erased :'() now the only problem i have is cod, how to you load calll of duty games on wiiflow? Because it just goes in a black screen

Hello,

to run Call of duty, it all depends on how you have installed your CIOS (249,250,251).
to make your game work, go to your game settings (call of duty), put the cios 250 or 249, save, then launch it, it should work again.
in general, all Call Of Duty games use base 57 to work.

where are your games placed (SD card or USB)?

If USB ==> use an external hard drive with a Y-cable or a mains power supply, for a better connection with the wii.

in the settings of your Call Of duty game, use the cios 250 .
 
Kirby Return to Dreamland issue off the SD card in WiiFlow Lite still seems to be unfixed, even with the gameconfigs.txt file from a few pages back. I think i have an idea why we're all getting inconsistent results: from experimenting, it seems the game consistently crashes when it tries to load a cutscene. Hang on the intro screen too long? Crash. Go to the Theater of an already extant save file and try to play a cutscene? Crash.

Most crucially, when you start a new game, it plays a cutscene. Crash. No way to get to the World Map past the cutscene, no way to advance the game. Not a problem for people who may have save files already startted, but terrible for a completely Fresh Start.

That being said, if i used a save file with stuff already done, i could access the world map and play any stage (did not test *every* stage) just fine.

It also explains some of the other errors i saw people mention, about it crashing after certain stages or even the final boss. I would hazard a guess that there were cutscenes at those moments.

So those of you who believe KIrby Return to Dreamland works off SD from WFL, i ask you: can you play a cutscene from this game? Just idle on the title screen or open up one of your saves and try to play one from the Theater.

SERIOUSLY THIS WOULD EXPLAIN SO MUCH from what I've seen of threads discussing this problem. I feel like

this is just the boot.dol. and a couple of bin files. install v5.5.3 and replace them with the files in this zip. this is a test release because i tested some things but not everything. Here's the changes:

build #2:
- added PR #316 by eku - Make use of GamesTDB (scummvm.xml) for ScummVM title.
- added PR #312 by eku - Show total number of games after filter changes (categories, favorites).
- added a fix for Amstrad wiituka plugin. sets the date to Aug 16, 2022 before launching wiituka with game. (at least it works for me, hopefully for everyone)

build #1:
- fixed gui sound volume set to zero.
- fixed using 1 or 2 to change sourceflow to save the change.
- fixed deleting cached .wfc cover when you use X to delete a game.
- fixed reload cache when BOTH channel types is chosen.
- fixed minor issues when using the source menu/flow with tiers.
- fixed source menu buttons hiding/showing when switching pages.
- moved SD only setting from wiiflow_lite.ini to wiiflow save file to possibly speed up wiiflow start up. note for sd users very first time will be slow and try to mount a USB drive but afterwards will be fast again.
- removed splash image on start up.
- added parental lock to block source menu editor. if wfl is locked pressing HOME button while on source flow/menu will do nothing.
 
Any idea about the cutscenes issue for Kirby Return To Dreamland playing off SD? If you can play the game off SD, please test if you can successfully play cutscenes please? If you can, then i must be doing something wrong on my end.

finally had time to test it.
It seems you are right the game via SD freezes on cutscenes. via USB its fine.
first and foremost it has nothing to do with gameconfig.txt and WFL. It must be cIOS related.
right now we can't try it with usbloader gx. not until it has SD support.
I didn't check the cheats but i wonder if there is one 'skip cutscenes'. that could be helpful.
I imagine a NEW game doesn't work because the game starts with a cutscene.
I wonder if a different video mode or a different cios would make any difference?

i tried multiple permutations of settings, i can't guarantee i exhausted all permutations, but nothing fixed the issue. May have tried changing the cIOS from the menu, but i don't remember. At the very least, I'm thrilled the issue has been pinpointed, unfortunately i don't know anything about how to fix it. Thank you for testing it!
