I admit I'm too lazy to read all of your posts, but maybe its banner related? Maybe its hard drive/sd card related? When the code changes sometimes little things go crazy, I have four Wiis now and each one acts a little different due to different hardware on each one.

If possible quote your last post so we know what you are doing. I kinda understand it but what you are doing still sounds confusing...but if I understand it 4.2.1 clean install does not boot Wii Sports Resort but 4.2 does. Replacing the 4.2.1 boot.dol with the 4.2 dol works.
Correct.

Just a couple ideas I'll throw out there

1 Booklets for emulators. Like if you had a booklet in a .cbr or .zip it could pop up where the banners do click on it and read it. Wouldn't that be cool....

2 a code to get to movies that are not kid friendly. Ie I press uuddlrlr21 and boom a video source comes up that's inaccessible any other way. To put it another way Konami code straight to my spankware.
Wiiflow rox

i totally agree, i try to give my son a remote that is not sync'd but hell no he ain't having that. he just switches the flow mode over and over until i finally stop him and pick a game.
As long your little son isn't going into any Wad Manager (you should remove them from SD-card) you shouldn't have to worry about any pernamant damage . Let he play around :P , its good to learn :)

Thinking about it.. Its not WiiFlow related but, how about creating some parental App to put password on BootMii, priiloader and homebrew channel ? If they can't touch those things your Wii can never get damaged .

How about buying another SD-card and remove the adult-App from one of them? :)

I wonder when the last time was that Fix94 listened thoughtfully to average joe gamer's feature requests and implemented them...

try rev1054

USBL-GX 1218 (Make sure you have the last line in \apps\usbloader_gx\GXGlobal.cfg
this line is not created via dol update, you need to add it manually for the banner download feature to work properly in gx, though this is only needed once
that is not a reply. :) I was asking if r1218 needs anything more then 'bool.dol' to update from 3.0 ? :)

edit: or is that GXGlobal.cfg related to your WiiFlow package?

What you mean? You can simple update USB Loader GX by replacing the boot.dol file?
for just about all apps you can simply replace the boot.dol to update/downgrade an app. With major updates though sometimes other things need to be added, i.e. WiiFlow 4.2.1 now needs all folders inside app/wiiflow to work. Previously it did not because all the images were embedded in the dol. Personally I prefer the new way since it saves memory.

Does anybody know where I can find the sourcecode (svn-checkout) for Wiiflow 4.1.3-r439?
When I search googlecode for 439 I only find an altered version called Wiiflow r439 mod 3.1!

4.1.3-r439 is my own version. I changed the boot animation of this one bevore, but now I can't anymore because when I try to do the same with r439 mod 3.1 it freezes my Wii :(
Could anybody help me please?

TheSly, I think your best bet is to just update from the open wiiflow mod googlecode site. It has all the revisions.

1 - As in comic files? there was a homebrew comic reader, can't recall the name. Something to indicate the kind of graphics you get from an emulated system (or even a game!) would be cool, and a banner-something for game metadata/text.
2 - I reckon custom, password lockable, app folders is a great idea. Point a 'homebrew' source menu entry at a folder other than /apps. You could have a separate install of your media player of choice with the config file pointing at...custom folders...You could also separate your homebrew games from your applications, hide "They Do Not Die" from your 2-year-old, etc... :)
Password locking - might be a big ask - dunno?.

There's been a lot of requests around child locking and simplification generally, it's certainly becoming an issue round my gaff, so I was wondering if anyone had more ideas about how that might work?
I suppose the the ultimate ideal would be a foolproof - can't balls it up mode, and a password locked admin/setup (play with settings;)) mode.

I had a 4.5 fantasy request thread in my sig, I must've dropped it somewhere...

EDIT: Just a thought, but if someone with the emu title in-game video database just did a batch screengrab of one frame, that'd be something wiiflow could handle - i.e.

- a per-game screengrab for emugames instead of a banner?

nickh have u tried forcing a cIOS like 249(56)when starting Wii Sports resort? And I take it you've already watched the Wii Motion plus vid right?

Ok. Starting again. and fully checked and reproducible.

V4.2 works fine with Sports Resort.

Upgrade /apps/wiiflow to 4.2.1 and Sports Resort black screens on loading. Same if you delete wiiflow.ini and clear the cache.

Delete /wiiflow with 4.2.1 in /wiiflow/apps and Sports Resort loads - but no covers obviously.

Now download the covers and 4.2.1 black screens.

Replace /apps/wiiflow 4.2.1 with 4.2 but leave the /wiiflow created with 4.2.1 and Sports Resort loads.

The wii is running d2x-v10-beta53-alt with cIOS249[56]
Sports Resort is the EU Version

I hope this is clearer than my last report.

do you have force cIOS mode enabled? if not may give it a try, grab my startup editor here:
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/o4kj8iyw2iie1/Downloads
and enable force cIOS load, maybe that helps. It seems like for some people 4.2.1 doesnt work properly with the normal IOS58 mode.
