I see a lot of people talking about little modifications in the themes. It's making me wonder if I should wait and not download them before people finish tweaking them.
If I have to wait the 45 minutes between each download that WUPLOAD requires, I want it to be worth it. I'm just not sure if I trust fixing it myself.
(I assume I'm just removing references to a WAV file after
sound_hover=
on all of them, is that right?

or do I also have to fine where it says
max_fsaa=
and do something with it?)

In reference to the themes I posted all you have to do is remove any reference to a WAV file in the section _coverflow. no need to mess with max_fsaa=

I didn't realize you had to wait so long between downloads on wupload someone should have told me. I 've reposted the fixed versions to mediafire see below

you do know fsaa refers to Anti-Aliasing, the higher the value the more stress the wii is under, so lowering it helps alot but sacrifices cover quality

Ive just went through the themes .ini's you posted and all have a fsaa of 3 to 4 keeping in mind the max is 5(i think), try lowering it via Adjust Coverflow and youll clearly see a difference by going from 5 down to 1.

yes I know thank you , but I tested the themes with the wave files out and they worked fine at blazing speed so figured there was no need to adjust fsaa. I appreciate your help and input - thank you

Using my carbonik ini with 15 modes
No sound_hover
Max_fsaa=3
still slow carbonik :(

check the fsaa setting via the Adjust Coverflow option, if the .ini settings are higher that will still be used, Max_fsaa=3 in the wiiflow.ini only stops you setting it higher than allowed via the Ajust Coverflow. So if set at 2 then Adjust Coverflow will only let you set it to 2 but if the setting in the themes .ini is higher then that is still used. There needs to be some sort of cross check so themes dont bypass this setting. Also sound effects also play a small factor, so remove the references to any .wav in the theme.ini as well, this will also stop random crashes with the borked sound engine to.

Every theme ive tried with my custom flows all work butter smooth and fast as hell, i even go out my way to try and crash by flicking through the games but it doesnt have any of it, the only crashes a get are with the slight random bugs still needing to be fixed, i.e sound engine
This is what I did in the first place, it's not that slow actually but default is smoother and faster.
Maybe because I have 15 modes and 300 games!

Can someone help me... whenever I try to install the default v11d forwarder channel, I get an error saying
>> Installing title... ERROR! (ret = -1035)
and it stops. What should I do? TIA

I'm not really fluent in error codes so anyone can correct me if I'm wrong but
a lot of times an error is because you used the wrong IOS or cIOS to install it.
Other less likely errors could be just that there's no space left on your wii's NAND or that you had a corrupt download when you got the WAD file.

That's my stab in the dark, anyway. Anyone who knows what they're talking about care to chip in?

ok here it is: 8-bit playground theme by jsugarsmacks. It should be all fixed to run without lagging or stuttering.

I'm thinking if I post anymore themes I'm going to post them in their own thread or on spayrosams wiiflow theme thread. Since themes are little off topic here. If I do I will let you know. :)

I think your right. make sure you are using ios236 or cios249 to install. MMM defaults to using ios58 which if I remember right gave me the same error you got.

I like the sounds in the themes, how about a try at converting sound files to .ogg or even .mp3? Any possibility that performance would fare better?

A while back I mentioned a problem with forcing NTSC on a PAL game with DML.
I'm not sure which DML revision I had installed at the time but I did a little testing.
I had WAD's stored for r21, r35, r36, r44 and r47 so I tested them with WiiFlow r159 that I had installed at the time.
r21 actually DOES work correctly with it while the others don't, the other ones just hang the wii on startup when forcing a non-native screen resolution.

It's interesting that although it doesn't actually force the 480i part, it does force the NTSC so it has the right colors and when I get to the frequency selector I can just set it back to 60hz. That way I can have 60hz AND color.

Just thought I'd throw that out there for anybody who wanted to know.

Edit: I haven't gone through and checked all the WAD's on the copy of r154 that I have to see what that version of the video flag handling does but I just looked over at the DML googlecode site and it looks like they've changed the video mode handling AGAIN as well as adding more configuration options to r50.

Never mind,
there was only 1 mode which was slow
here's a link for default + carbonik (15 modes each) as fast as lightning.
I might tweak the others soon.

Download SMA V1.6 then update OnThemes.ini (SMA Settings Window).
After update, you will see Carbonik and 8-bit playground (Theme Tab(you can download any theme)) ;)
