Hacking WiiFlow 4 The Masterpiece Pack by Abz

I am having an extremely frustrating problem that I can't seem to solve. I am attempting to load everything from a USB thumb drive on the Wii. I downloaded the masterpiece pack onto the root. Everything works well except when I try to access the wiiflow source menu by pressing B on the lower right menu icon, wiiflow pauses and then reboots itself. When I use an SD card, I can access the source menu and emulators run great, but I am trying very hard to be able to use the USB drive alone.

Is there something I can do about this? I tried to find a solution online but I couldn't find anything similar. The drive is formatted to FAT32 with 32kb allocation size. I have tried two different drives, and everything else works on them. The problem is solely with the source menu not showing up but instead making wiiflow reboot to its "Wiiflow" loading screen. I went through all the instructions at the wiiflow 4 masterpiece pack website, even installing everything with ModMii again. It was doing this before and continued after. I haven't touched the wiiflow app or the wiiflow root folder yet in the masterpiece pack, so it's still "stock." My syscheck is below in case that is necessary. I just did a fresh install of the masterpiece mod pack on a reformatted USB stick, and no wiiflow menu appears now. It goes directly from the wiiflow load screen to "No available partitions found!"

I never tried usb only setup, but it may well be a bug.
Anyways I always recommend using SD for the wiiflow dol and settings, it's always more stable
moreover few plugins only work from SD
USB sticks are much worse compatible than USB HDD

With a clean install Wiiflow is set to look on SD first, this can easily be changed in the menu to HDD.

It has the feature to batch download all the missing banners for GC/Wii/Wiiware modes

You can just extract the pack without installing the cIOS wads to keep you softmod untouched

thank you for the response, so quickly too! Much appreciated! I was wondering if you could answer two questions for me?

1. I ripped DK Country using wiiflow and it got to 100% then gave me a dump error, but seems to be working just fine (loads fine, doesn't freeze) even after trying several times I always get the exception error and a dump, but it still seems fine?!??

2. Any idea where I can get some good compilations of roms?


I softmodded with ModMii and then just did the simple dios mios 2.9 installer and channel installer. I should be okay with this right?

As long as you have latest ios58 and cios 249 250 up to date you should have no problems.
If you're not sure which version you have installed you can run a "syscheck" and post the results here.

if the game is running fine then it's fine, you can check the md5 against the one in redump.org to make sure it's the same file, even better you can use wiibackup manager to rewrite the wbfs file (in this case you have the option to keep just the game partition which saves around 200mb) and use the new file if succesfully created

For compilation of roms, do you mean emulator roms like NES, GBA...?
anyways you can download any game using google search or torrent search, I can't help you more cause this is called piracy and is against the forum rules

one last quick question, when playing say, snes roms, is it possible to save it? I plan on mirroring my wii hard drive with the games on it as a back up
