The loading issue for CD games is solved. The problem was in the filesize function in iso.c. Stricter rules in the GCC from DevkitPPC r17 result in some types incompatibility, which prevents ISOs from being read.

Here comes the new build: wiiengine-1.5B-sdhc2.zip

Works awesome TryA! Thanks so much for your work.

Can't get Turbo CD games to work. I tried loading bin/cue files with no luck. I then converted the bin to an iso with Magic ISO and get the same problem. Any suggestions??

I don't think WiiEngine supports directly BIN/CUE loading. The structure of CD games is a bit special (the game data is on the second track), so it's recommended to use the bincuesplit program included in the archive to split tracks before loading. Grab a CUE file onto bincuesplit or use the command line and it will generate a new directory with a TOC file which defines the CD structure. You have to load this file with WiiEngine to play CD games with audio tracks.

Cool, got it working. Is syscard3.pce the best bios for this?...the sound is a little off. Thanks TryA!!

Thanks a lot TryA, going to try this tonight.

Can anyone tell me why this can't find any of my roms? I have only turbo-grafx 16 roms, in .pce format, but i've also tried .zip format. I have them in the directory roms/pcengine, in which i also have syscard3.pce renamed to syscard.pce (which i thought was only for cd game support anyway).
But yeah, when i go into wiiengine, i just get a roms list of 0.. is there something I'm missing.
I'm using this latest build that TryA posted with an 8GB Sandisk SDHC card. Thanks.

Edit: nevermind, they showed up on the third loading for some reason. But I realized that it's when I go through a forwarder that it doesn't seem to read the roms for some reason... and this is a forwarder, not an app channel. Anyone know any explanation for this?

yes, forwarder does not run through HBC but through the system menu
depending on the IOS which is running when the channel starts (does the IOS have SDHC support or not), some incompatibilites with SDHC support in libfat/libogc might occur

Interesting.. thanks for the reply. I would have thought I'd be ok though, since I'm on 4.1, my system menu IOS being 60 (my HBC is running off IOS36), I would have figured that it would have SDHC support, especially since all my other forwarders for all my emulators work fine with SDHC, but obviously I'm looking at this wrong way, don't know much about libfat/libogc.

So i guess I just have to give up on using that forwarder, again... thanks for the response.

Well, in fact, it depends on the libogc version which has been used to compile the application... the newest one (from SVN) has no problem but some older versions which implemented preliminar SDHC support had issues when running from IOS60 (or other IOS that already handle low level SDHC support )

this was the same problem with HBC 1.0.2 running from system menu 4.0 / IOS60, HBC 1.0.3 fixed SDHC support because it was compiled against a fixed libogc

Thanks for the replies, I understand exactly what you mean now. I like it when it works out like that, even if I can't use my forwarder now.

Hi all. First post here.

I've been struggling for two days to figure out this emulator and I just can't make it work. Could someone please post a small tutuorial on what goes where on the SDHC card? I've got to be doing something wrong here and it's driving me knucking futs. Thank you.

*Edit I found another forum with links to boot.dol file with SDHC support for the Hugo emulator. My fiancé is rockin' it on Bonk's Adventure as as we speak.

Speaking of WiiEngine (I have 1.5): I recently got my rip of Dracula X to play music again (my upgrading to 1.5 broke this, apparently) by re-ripping the music files but now the songs are played in the wrong order, i. e. the intro cinematic music plays during the naming menu and it all goes downhill from here. I'm positive my tracks are named correctly, I double-checked with another rip. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Was a solution ever found for launching this from a forwarder? Launching from SDHC through HBC works fine, but I would love to be able to use my forwarder for this again figuring this is the only reason I actually go into the HBC now.

this emu needs arcade card support.playing sapphire with component video would be great!

jerios, I take it you have the sdhc version. Could you pretty please upload it for me. all other links are down and i can't find it anywhere.

Sure thing. This version works like a charm, like I mentioned before, the only downside is you have to launch it from the homebrew channel, if you launch it from a forwarder, it won't recognize any roms on the card.

Mediafire mirror of app

EDIT:

I injected the dol into pepxl's forwarder channel and it works like a charm now. No having to load through HBC. Here's a link to that.
