No bother , ive asked the hosting company to reset the permissions one last time and im off out into the sun - it should come back again , but no guarantee how long it will last this time.
The last person that hacked has an ip address of 80.57.200.173

I have complained them to their ISP and because i work for an ISP myself they will actually take note if i want to go any further with it.
Im going check every form and start logging IP's again for people messing , but i wont be going to too much trouble cause nothing is worth that really.

Who do you know in Austria that's pissed off?

How can I get all the covers from you? I'll host them until you get things sorted... or until my cheap provider shuts me down. All I'll be out is the $36 bucks for the year.

I donated a few bucks, by the way... as well as uploading covers to support the site. I don't care about the money but I would like to get covers flowing again, no pun intended

Well, DJTaz, I hope everything works out well. I want to thank you personally for all your hard work with the Wii scene and your time with working on one of the best cover/disc image site. I hope the site can be put up, but if not, I can not complain. I never got to take advantage of the donation/subscription before the site went down, but I definitely would have. I know how hard it can be to manage a large image website and the money that can be pored into it. (I'm a network admin for a stock image website)

Some jackass in Austria. Feh. You may want to block 80.57.200.0 - 80.57.209.255 just in case.

Just put

deny from 80.57.200.0/21
deny from 80.57.208.0/23

in your .htaccess file.

Well the sun went in - and i see the hosting company still hasnt reset the permissions so im sitting here waiting.

I have put part of the site up on a different server , but its taking ages to get it on there - The whole site is 2 gigs in size and though that can download fast enough , it takes longer to upload it.

I could get the site semi working again now , but i think it would lead to a lot of confusion as i would only have some images working , and also then the hosting company when to check things they would see a working site.

Its prob best to leave it as it is for now and ill try getting it going when i can

FXP not working?

Coz if it has support for FXP on both servers, moving the files would be very fast.

Yeah... you should be going from server to server, not downloading them at home and trying to upload them from there - that could take a couple days at 512k up.

Lol , that would be great if i could log into the folder in the first place , but then i wouldnt need to transfer anything

Donations should not be mandatory, or they are not donations, they are a fee, so please quit trying to disguise it as a donation. And if it's not about trying to make money then why not take these others offering to host for free up on their offer? Secondly, the site kind of blows anyway, I only got covers there because it was convenient to do it in loaders, but the library is a disaster, with tons of unofficial customs mixed in with actual retail art. There should have been more options such as "download 3d boxart (retail)" and "download 3d boxart (custom)" especially in the disks which is the biggest cluster f of retail, one kind of custom, and another kind of custom. I know not all retail disks are scanned, but give the choice to fill the gaps with customs or let someone just download all customs.

Wouldn't simply offering only the image sizes needed for the loaders save a ton of bandwidth? Just take out the resizing bit, batch downloads, and have only 2d/3d boxart & disc images.

If people want them all or something different they'll have to get them elsewhere, get them all 1 by 1 manually, or install every game available to let the loader(s) get them. I can guarantee that people won't be snatching 1/4 as much if they can't batch download 500+ images at once on a regular basis.

Sure people will bitch about that too, but it seems like a pretty simple solution to save a CRAPload of bandwidth AND be able to dl the images straight from a loader. Isn't that what it's all about anyway? Having images to use for the loaders?

No one HAS TO fork out money to download anything - why do people keep saying that ? Its an option if you want to mass download , or at least it was when the site was there.
Every cover is still free and on the site for free to download without needing to resize or rename it like on the other sites mentioned.

Then why aren't the loaders able to download the files? I can't check out the site right now because it's down.

My offer stands. I can host the box art for the loaders for free. Do you want to join up?

do it and allow the loaders to download them than all the loaders can be updated to download from your site.

I had to register just to reply to this.

DJTaz has been doing this community a major service hosting and maintaining the boxart site. He has saved many people alot of time and made things more convenient.

Arguing whether it's a donation or a fee is stupid. That's like getting a free dinner from a restaurant and then complaining that they don't give you dessert with it. Dessert was not part of the deal! You get the dinner...that's what was offered to you for free. If you want the dessert (the additional functionality) then pay $2 for it!

If you don't like his site, go troll elsewhere, or better yet, go try to put something together yourself which is better.

DJTaz, thanks for your efforts, and I hope things get back up soon.

you haven't got a clue what your talking about and you obviously haven't read every post. the problem mainly is the loaders CANNOT download the covers anymore that is a mistake right there!

Thanks bengalih,

I appreciate the effort you made by registering just to say that.

The site is working though not fully back yet - i have to re-upload everything which is still ongoing.

I think your the one that misunderstood.

The site was set up to supply covers for people wanting them - the loaders downloading them was an extra that i made codes for specifically , but they are a serious bandwidth hog.

The loaders CAN download covers , but they need to put in the new link that includes a username and password if they want to do so.This is partially to reduce the bandwidth and if people do join , to pay for their usage of it.

I left the alternative open for people do download covers manually as its still the easiest place to get covers on a one by one basis in the correct size.

I got a question about the downloading through loaders feature.

If i donate i can download them through the loader with a username password right?

Is this good for only one console or what?

I have a wii at my house and one at my parents house so all the grandkids can play.

Will i be able to use the same username password at both? Or do i need to seperate donations or what?

in other words your forcing peeps to get a password to download covers which you didn't make or even upload. and don't try and hide behind that bandwidth BS. i run a site that hosts 10-20mb+ files for download, i have 1500gb a month and it never gets all used and i have hudreds of visitors per day. your just doing it for the $ that's all there is to it. i hope someone starts a different site and hosts them for free. you can say whatever you want now i want be posting in this topic anymore i'm too disgusted!

No, they can download covers for free on the site - theres no charge.

If they want extra features they pay for them, simple as that.

In fact ill go one further - use my site if u want, donty if u dont want to , im not forcing anyone.
If people keep bitching ill give them something to bitch about and make the whole site members only.

Im going to allow a few IP's per username per week so as to accomodate those with dynamic IP's
Go over the limit and u get blocked for a few days so its nothing too big.

Thanks, now I know I personally don't need to donate
