I tried running the installer with the homebrew channel but it said "not a valid homebrew app" and i couldn't load it from anywhere else. Can someone help me? I want to install linux on my wii (my wii is a 2008 black gamecube compatible wii with priiloader and bootmii as IOS)

I have a Wii Family Edition (no GC) and it won't install either.
Also, I don't think you will use it that much because It's a PPC debian and don't forget that the Wii has limited resources.

My wii is a 2008 gamecube compatible wii (other than the disc drive and the boot1 and boot2 it's practically the same than the 2006-2007 wiis) also, my 2 PC's were bricked (a dell and an acer laptop), so i need somewhat of a desktop os so i can at least make things easier later on

Is that a vintage HBC homebrew (that needs to be converted to DOL with powerpc-gekko-objcopy, fixing it in the progress)?
Or is it a BootMii ELF, that well shoulf be run with BootMii (with its file browser or by replacing the ppcboot file in the SD)?

And alternatively you don't really need an installer, prebuilt images are around and you can then adjust partitions with standard computer programs...

1st one. Also my wii model my be the issue but i can't afford another wii because i'm saving that money for a 3ds (also, what is powerpc-gekko-objcopy?) i'm using an installer because that is what michael mjd did in his video
