If we want homebrew to be accessible to a lot of people then we're going to have to port it to 5.0.0 anyways, and we already confirmed that the bug we use to get code execution still exists, it's just the actual code we use to get code execution changed, so we just have to find new addresses for it to work, so you're good regardless.

I'll take your word on it then, thanks.

Even better: Just found out the code will expire on Sept 30th, got plenty of time.

I never played the Lego games, but other games I have (Mario Kart 8, NSMB, Need For Speed, AC 3 and AC 4, etc) they don't crash anymore, they did, maybe three times tops, but since 4.1, never crashed.
i thought you had LCU? anyway the lego games are notorious for freezing if you look at them the wrong way :P

I put 69.25.139.188 as the "Destination Address" and selected "LAN→Internet" for the direction - in other words i'm preventing any device on my network from accessing nus.wup.shop.nintendo.net.
Perhaps this is where its going wrong for you?

For those using Tomato firmware on your routers

Go to: Administration > Scripts > Firewall

Copy and paste the following in there and hit save.

iptables -t nat -A WANPREROUTING -s 69.25.139.188 -j DROP # inbound
iptables -t filter -A wanout -d 69.25.139.188 -j DROP # outbound

I'm getting the update nag at random intervals too. Although I haven't tried blacklisting the update servers via my router settings. Background tasks while in standby mode is disabled and so are automatic downloads. Although, I don't really care about these nags. I'm old school. I'm 'very quick on the draw' when it comes to ripping the power cord out of the back of the Wii U. hahhaa. I come from the days of doing swap tricks while the disc is still spinning XD. I make classic console disc drives cower in fear lmao. As you can see in this video, I'm able to do the Sega Saturn Swap Trick one handed in under a minute #nolife lmao.

OFF TOPIC: I still do the swap trick on my PS2 slim to play my PS1 ISOS and I remember doing that swap 4 times on the PS1 most of the time my timing was off or something...

but I do have to say that the obvious plug for a poorly lit video got off topic fast...let's confirm if any exploits have been patched and lets talk about old school in an, ..*old school* topic :/

Good point lol

Can somebody help me, I want to block the update by blacklisting the ip from my router but I cannot figure out how to do it. I have a comcast router. I know how to login to change its settings, but I cant find any place in the settings to block a specific ip address.

Can't you just turn it off in the settings menu?
yes you can. and there are 2 stages to an update.

1. no matter what you do even if you turned standby off etc if you have a net connection and it detects an update it will announce it. this is where people get it wrong they think the update has somehow bypassed the standby and it's going to install. this is FALSE. this is the 1st stage 1st the update will say it's preparing itself what it's doing is downloading to the wiiu so it can install but it won't install.
2. the 2nd stage is the actual update it will ask you to push OK if you do than there's no going back now. what you want to do at this stage is push the power button on the gamepad. this will not brick you (unless you pushed OK) and now it won't pester you to update anymore unless you choose to manually.

there's no need to block the update servers all you need to do is turn standby OFF :P

Huh, I knew there was something peculiar on how the Wii U did its updates, now I know how to avoid it without having to screw with the router settings and blacklisting (still gonna see where I actually enter in the IP addresses I want to block).
