Rumors are going around that Nintendo is doing their final shipment of Wii U consoles this week, I doubt Nintendo will release a new firmware, maybe.

I think Nintendo happy to sell more wii u because of the hacking progress so maybe don't want to release updates. It's just a speculation.

Again, I saw various rumors on IGN and Eurogamer, but still, people need to be careful and block updates.

I would also recommend blocking updates on redNAND (maybe not now, but once an update is released).
Since there is no update past 5.5.1, we don't really know if we can update redNAND. Some people have even stated that it can brick the system.

I've no current plans to use RedNAND, given its complexity in setting up for the programming illiterate such as myself, leave what the more skilled users can do to the skilled. I don't want to put my console at risk, but I have router blacklisting and the YouTube DNS set up.

If Nintendo is smart enough and really want to get rid of the remaining Wii U consoles before the Switch hits stores, they will let the hacking community grow without any obstacles so that the Wii U's sell faster.

If the Wii U gets a media player, RetroArch and a well established coldboot with something similar to Arm9 on 3DS with sysNAND+sig patches by the end of the year, rest assured that those shits will sell themselves by February.

I wouldn't know :P I haven't used DiscU to decrypt a WUD file.
I used UWizard for that: https://gbatemp.net/threads/uwizard-all-in-one-wii-u-pc-program.386508/
The thing is, The new version of discu can extract wuds contents ready to be installed with wupinstaller. Uwizard can't do this & maybe considered outdated??

Thanks!
Now, how do I use it to decrypt WUD?
Is there a command line?

If you have a wud & title key in .bin, Open cmd & type...
Code:
DiscU.exe disckey.bin wiiugame.wud c
