Yeah man, these kids just waste everyone's time with their "I just do it all myself and these stalling devs will be forgotten" mentality.

Need a magnifier to spot the hack easier? Oh, you found it already? It jumped right into your eyes? Damn. That's what I call talent. From 0 to 100 l33t hAx0r. </sarcasm>
Nice imaginations of hacking but I guess that's not how it works ;)

It's not like anyone can pull this off right off the bat if people like us (who develop a few things for the community) won't even bother.

I don't mind their enthusiasm, the community needs it, but will they continue when the rubber meets the road, when their isn't a person who has an answer or is willing to give one? Will they put in the time, thats the question.

Nah, they won't. I "studied" people's behavior in the hacking/modding community for years and it's nothing but curious kids that give up after a week or so. The only good people are the who are already capable. Literally nobody is willing to learn from the ground up and stick to it since it would require some tiring efforts ;)

Well, at least, let's give them a chance. We never know.

selfish devs

I make no apologies for wanting the PPC kernel exploit to actually be used for something, and not wasted. I have given private access to people who are working on interesting things that need the kernel exploit, such as dimok (no, don't start pestering him for it).

I think you shouldn't have mentionned it. Now everyone are going to pester him, lol

well i for one will not be bothering anyone for anything..... i hope you guys succeed in all your exploits (no pun intended) and good luck to you....

This is a perfectly valid reason. Most people on here are the selfish ones and are the first to whine when something got patched because they're the ones who update to the newest firmware first. As soon Nintendo catches wind and patches the 2nd kernel exploit there is nothing left for developers to use so obviously this shouldn't happen. You're not helping anybody by being a leech. You were supposed to stay on a low firmware to get access to homebrew as soon as possible but you failed so now you'll have to suffer the consequences. Get over it, clear statements have been made so any begging can just be shut down permanently until something severely changes

the thing is if you were following this community, you didn't update
if you're new, you didn't know better
I only got to this scene because of Mr.bean, and to be fair, he never warned anyone of how this works and for us to not update
so its not fair to be pushed around like if we are some blind morans who knew what the consequences were.

but anyways the hype is over for both a kernel and an IOUS exploit
if it comes yay
and if not soon
fuck it i can live without custom textures on MK8 and Smash 4 for a while

You helped me get set up with the kernel.img, that was a good start. :)
And it's lucky I can ask any address or R.E.ing questions I have to you. You definitely could make this happen alongside me and Nexo.
Can you write a tutorial to get, decrypt and inspect kernel.img?

Ok... I always come to this thread to read news about developers and their advance on hacking the system. But all i see is a buch of ppl whinning about a hack on the wii u. Im sorry but the Wii has already a lot of stuff that ppl need. Let these guys post news about their hacking so we can know (whoever is interested on the process) about it and let develop this thread the way it should. My 2 cents..

PS you should only give permission to post only to developers and be viewable to everyone... I dunno if this will improve the thread...

This thread is pretty pathetic lately.

I find hacking and all of this stuff that were able to do extremely interesting. I was in high school during the times of the Wii and I loved messing around with it! I am now in collage perusing a computer science major, partially because of the enjoyment I gained from looking into the Wii and previous work of these developers.

I would love to be able to do what some of these guys do and go and research all of this and mess around and figure out hacks, but at the moment I simply don't have time, so to those that do have the abilities and drive to work through this and find an exploit and build this amazing home brew I sincerely applaud you!

What I personally enjoy is seeing how it works, how these exploits and other things come to be. This thread is wonderful to be able to see where the current devs are at, not to see a bunch of people fighting and multiple pages of deleted replies due to bickering... I agree that if we could have a sort of read only thread where only people of real importance could post and we could all see, that would be quite pleasant for people like me :)

Either way, keep up the good work everyone.

Alright, let's cut the bullshit. It's making me sick.

First off, I support @Voxel Studios in his development, but, as is customary, you give him shit and say "he's going to chicken out".

Listen, I don't give a fuck if he does, it's his work, just like the PPC kernel exploit or the IOSU exploit. Go develop something yourselves if you're so keen on exploiting your console. Once you've done that, let me know what you achieved, maybe then you can make yourselves useful instead of shit-talking an unsung dev. ;)

For the record, @Onion_Knight is the one you guys should be thanking. He's helping out as much as he can, whether it's cheat codes or aiding others in making their own stuff, because as he said, he shows support for developers, even if they don't release, since it's their work.

In conclusion, don't be so god damn butthurt, you'll get something eventually. You're more than welcome to develop things yourself, but please, if you can't even do that, then don't discourage others from actually developing. :)

Oh wow, 5 new pages sprung up over the last day. Let's read through them.

Bickering, insults, a new potential dev, people insulting and bickering with the new potential dev.
The only thing missing are people bugging the new dev about testing out their work, although I'm sure that's already going on in other threads.

That was a fun 10 minutes of my time.

That's a good idea. Most of the people actually using it for useful stuff are on 5.3.2/5.4 anyways. The only problem is that people with no recognition aren't going to get access to it, but that may not be avoidable.
